Issues with rear AC? You might want to slide seat forward, and remove the floor mats and check for this condition if you have the dial selectors correct to get AC in the back with the floor vents?
  • While I have no one ever riding in the back, and have no issues with the AC. The folks with family friends who ride might want to investigate what I found today with mine. The vent was basically blowing air under the carpet, I assume. I lifted the vent and pressed carpet down under the vent. Which I noticed will not take much to get the vent back below carpet I suspect. I may get a piece of foam and prop the vent up if I notice this happening again....
  • Side note, also make sure your mats are not being shoved up over vents, and blocking them as well.

Ok, i will be the first and maybe only one to ask this question…. I have the vents … rig is a 23 wildsquatch, mid…. No air comes out of the vents and i pulled to owners manual up on the screen and couldn’t find info regarding how to control air to them. Maybe I don’t have the ability cause if i do I definitely don’t have the knowledge. 🤣 🐎

Honestly...I have no proof that there is supposed to be air to the rear....but with vents being back there, if its for heat, it should carry AC as well. In my opinion. (I have been wrong many times before, sooo...lol ) but I have read where people complain about it being hot back there... so quite possibly there is no option... BUT i have heard you have to do the combo FLOOR and DASH VENTS... you might check that next time...

Yeah i did…. I ASSume the same as far as if u have vents, there should be air, but no joy. Gonna do more research and see. Maybe on of the BN scholars will have some insight before i pull what lil hair i have left out. 🐎

Yes there is supposed to be air conditioning/ heat coming from the vents.
I have not had a problem. My two knuckle head teen age boys are wearing hoodies in 100+ temps if they complain I’ll tell them to take off the hoodie. 😂
But this is good information I shall go check this.

Done some quick research in the Bronco, which led.me down another rabbit hole...

Bare with me.
So turned AC on just dash vents.. nothing out of the vents under the seat. Made sense... then I do dash vents and floor vents... get a faint amount of air coming through the floor vents, dash barely changed. Not even enough to make your grannies toes cold... then I go put all the AC just to the floor vent... get out check it. About the same... but low and behold... the A PILLAR vents are blowing at 200mph!! What??? Why??? 1000001471.jpg
Are they being plumbed in wrong from the factory? Or would that be a normal thing? Who knows? Does that even make sense when it's on the floor? 1000001470.jpg
Now I'm really confused and at the moment this doesn't even affect me, but now I'm invested... can anyone else verify theirs does the same? Or no... @Jakob1972 , when you say your kids are freezing is it on the floor vents or just the 4 dash vents?

Just did another check following what u described…. Mine does same thing…. The vents under the seat when it’s on the floor only, do blow a little but not what one would think it should be to cool that much cubic feet. Thanks for the info once again and now more curious as ever to the distribution of air at the right place at the right setting.

Exactly..
I realize The A pillar vent should be for defrosting down the side windows. But I'm confused on why floor vents blow thru there... again. I wonder if it's a plumbing issue ... I'm still waiting to hear back from Jakob on when and how his kids in the back freeze... or maybe they just like hoodies. Lol

No these guys just are always wearing hoodies. They are not wearing them because it is too cold in the Bronco per se. But even with that don’t complain about air in the back. It is always a struggle back when we had the suburban those guys would have the heat on in the back and we had the ac in the front. Most of the time they had the vents facing forward so your back was heated and front cooled took a long time to figure out why the cooled seats stopped working as well.

ok did some research/ testing. Regular ac and no air out of the rear floor vents. Turn it to all floor and it blows like crazy out the floor vents front and rear pretty decent air flow. But it does blow like crazy out the A pillar vent. I assume these are blowing to release some static pressure from trying to blow all the air out of the smaller floor vents and I assume they blow it out of the A pillars because if you wanted it to blow on you you would choose both floor and vents. If I turn it to both dash vents and floor it blows really good out the dash and decently out the floor.

Hmmm....so urs works... you have the Sp Ed Everglades model... for the folks who went above beyond... ford hooked their ac vents up for them.... lol...
Us peasants got left with no more than a trickle of air through the floor vents... we should have splurged....🤣😅... thanks for the Info... NOW we know they are meant to work.. great info Jakob.. Thank you!!

Oh keep in mind air flow is subjective. My idea of good airflow may be a trickle to others. I don’t have an anemometer or airflow hood to check speed or CFMs this is all by feel.

I checked mine and the carpet is clear of the vents, but there isn't much force that comes out of them. Then again the F-150 isn't much better.

Mine is not blocked, but you don't get much air flow. It will be better then nothing, and that's not saying a lot.
