I have an occasional rattle over uneven roads only coming from the cargo area. Sounds like its coming from inside. Applied GummiPfledge to all seals and gaskets but that didn't resolve it. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Check where your jack is and see if everything is secure there.

^^Yeah, I was actually going to do 2 things: 1) Flip the rear window up and go over bumps to see if its the window; and 2) Get the jack and everything else out and go over bumps to see if that's the culprit.

I assume neither of you have any rattles from the cargo area?

I have no rattles anywhere on my bronco and have had it on the trails and bumpy roads.

Do you have a mic top?

I had this rattle over the weekend. I climbed in the back while my husband drove down my friends long dirt driveway. Mine was coming from the passenger side soft top backet. I have attached two pictures. The bar that the arrow is pointed towards was the culprit. I could move it back and forth just slightly and it would replicate the noise. I think it may be coming from the sandwhich joint in the second picture.

Mine sounds is a light clicking sound.

Awe, well I just read down and saw you have a hard top! I'll leave my post up in case someone has a soft top issue. I haven't messed with mine to try and fix it yet.

I did have a noise coming from my hard top panel above the passenger seat. I fixed it by applying some 1mm thick felt tape on the sides of the holes for each roof panel guide pin hole. I cut the felt tape to 1/4” wide.

I had my soft top all the way down yesterday and noticed a rattle. I found that the latch on the passenger side wasn't as tight as the driver side causing it to bounce and hit the striker. I put some heat shrink on it and it's fixed so far. Not sure how long it will go but it's a starting point. I also noticed the same rattle when the top was closed and found the same striker and latch rattle so I heat wrapped it also. I've attached pictures to show.

Reporting what worked for me in hopes it will help others:

1. I developed the same rattle as in the short videos posted in the "gnarly rattle" thread on B6G. Noticed mine 2-3 weeks ago, at about 500 miles.

2. After reading a different thread on B6G regarding a rattle from the cargo area, "I applied GummiPflege to all window and seals in the rear. This didn't resolve the issue.

3. Rode in the rear seats yesterday morning and I isolated the sound as coming from inside the tailgate as others here observed.

4. On advice of a poster to the "gnarly rattle" thread on B6G, I removed the rectangular black accessory cover from the tailgate and really doused (bathed) the 2-3 bolts that I could see with WD-40 Spray Lithium Grease. Test drove it again and the noise was better (i.e. less frequent) but still there. Figured I was on to something.

5. Found and read all 13 pages of the "gnarly rattle" thread, I removed the accessory cover again and doused the lower bolt towards the driver side latch that I had missed on the first pass. (Tip: Use flashlight to see this and all other bolts to make sure you don't miss any).

6. At the same time, on the advice of another poster to that thread, I doused the latch mechanism on the tailgate and the slider on the body.

7. Test drove again and the rattle/tick-tick sound is completely gone.

Not sure what actually resolved my issue or whether it was a combination of all these things but I hope this helps others.

Whenever you are troubleshooting anything, always do one fix to the problem each time and test. If you spray a part, spray one part. That way you can say for sure what the problem was.;)
