Hi Friends,

Did the ProCal tune at a dealership Monday.

Before tune: 418 HP and 440 lbs. of torque. After tune: 455 HP and 536 lbs. of torque

When I first drove away I didn't notice much difference. It seemed smoother but not a huge difference in the HP or torque. I was in a city so that may have had something to do with it. Don't spend much time there. Was kinda gassing it a bit and I guess I felt a little better acceleration.

I really noticed it when getting on the highway and while driving on the highway. At about 4000 plus RPM it is noticeable. There is more power available and the torque is noticeable while passing. It also was smoother with less shifting.

When I hit some dirt road trails on a friends private land I could tell the difference. This is where I could feel free to really check it out. From a rolling start and flat footing it the acceleration is better and the shifting seems less and an overall smoother transition to speed.

I think it makes a difference and the power is where you want it to be. Glad I got it put in and am looking forward to really spending some time with it.

Longer shifts and overall smoother with more pep. Before it seems you were really working through those gears if you were giving it.

That's my take.

Nice! That is a pretty good bump in both HP and Torque. I found a dyno graph with the differences. Looks like it peaks around 3000rpm.

Yah that looks great. I wonder what they did to the transmission to handle the extra torque and weight of the Raptor?

Yeah, I have no idea. Probably have some slick shifting algorithms or something.

Please comment on how this affects the MPG. Yeah, I know Raptors arn't great, I just want to know how bad it gets with the tune. I'm looking into doing it on my 24 Braptor.

I will try. I don't really look at the MPG. Not sure what I am getting now. I will check.

Interesting. Now wonder it pulls well at about 4000 RPM (I guess really 3000 - will pay more attention) and stays pulling well. The torque is fairly stable til say 5500 RPM

I can get around 15 MPG in town using cruise control. On the Freeway, it will vary, generally due to Wind conditions from 16-18.

Interesting

Yah but remember these ratings are coming from a company that really couldn’t definitely say how much oil to put in their 2.7 Bronco engine. Took them years of vacillating and overfilling from factory. Hard to comprehend.

I am close to purchasing the procal thru leathalperformance. From what I gather it take a bit of driving before the tune hones in being it is progressive. So how noticeable is it?

I am so used to it now. It is worth it. Noticeable about 4000, 5000 RPM pulls better and is smoother with less shifting. Everyone I have read who has put it in likes it. I am glad I did it.

I didn't know it is progressive. I am used to the tune so hard to tell if it is getting better. I will try to pay more attention.
