I bought a 2022 Outer Banks four-cylinder with the Sasquatch package soft top in December 2024 as a gold certified vehicle with 1600 miles. For four months no problems drove it all the time now at 11,000 miles while going down the highway numerous warning lights losing most of the electronic controls, cruise control, etc. ABS while on the freeway. it was still drivable, but not fun.
Started going to dealerships the next day assuming that I would be promptly serviced. The first two Ford dealerships would not even look at it for two weeks so I ended up at my local Lincoln dealer who at least took it in and got me in a loaner car which is a 11 year-old piece of junk by the way. Apparently I need a wiring harness and it’s on a national backorder so I’ve been complaining which has done nothing for me and the quality of the communication from the dealerships are a joke. I would not recommending looking to get your vehicle serviced in the area of St. Paul Minnesota if you want it back anytime quickly.
If you’re shopping use, don’t be fooled that a vehicle being gold certified is any better than any other used car.
I’ve been driving Hondas and Acuras for 30 years, including an Acura which I traded in on the Bronco so this whole waiting around for the dealership to do something while my new car is broke nonsense is very new to me. Anybody else waited 45 days for a backorder part ? I told the dealer I’d drive to Michigan and get one off the assembly line if they let me.
Bummed out
