My bronco is scheduled to arrive early October. I ordered an eruption green OBX but I would like to put a Matte PPF on my Bronco when it arrives. However all the quotes I am getting seem kind of high (6k-9k). I am toying with the idea of trying to cover my Bronco myself. Does anyone have experience wrapping their Bronco? Or know of a reasonably priced option? I am located in TX.

Are you wrapping the whole car? If so, that seems fair to me. I'd leave it to the pros unless you have experience.

Yes wrapping the whole car. 4 door soft top.
I have talked to a few people on instagram and YouTube and they had their 4 door wrapped for under 5k. Which is why I am not sure if that prices high.
I do not have experience at wrapping it. Just watching others do it lol

Then I wouldn't take the chance. You'll waste more money doing it yourself than having someone else do it. I'd call around and find the cheapest one.

Edit: I apologize. That was harsh. Sorry!

For $4K-$5K you can get the entire Bronco painted. And if you have an accident, I don't think you'll be covered for paint protection film on repaired bodywork.
I'll opt for maintaining it with a good wax job a few times a year and regular washing. I've seen some positive U-tubes on Simoniz Ceramic Sealant, but I want to research it further. I have to park it outside, so I did buy a customer cover I can throw over it when snow and seriously rough weather are expected.

I just had ours done - high impact/wear area. Was ceramic coated by the dealer too.

If it was a GT500 then I’d get the whole car wrapped. It’s just a Bronco - enjoy it.

The matte film costs more. If it is clear, look at around 3k. That was the price difference for me. I don't regret the Xpel Stealth at all. Gives it a beautiful look. When others at the dealer saw it, I was told they sold 6 more wraps in ten minutes.

Well, we just wrapped the front end of ours....so I'd say just wrap the front end of his.

I was toying with the idea of a stealth wrap at first but I made the decision it just wasn't worth the cost. I can use that money for other accessories and add-ons. I will do a ceramic coating, though.

I, too, have an Eruption Green incoming. I will say, of the stealth pics I've seen on the green... ooph it looks good.

ohhhh can I see pics of yours? Mine is Eruption Green and I think the matte wrap will just send it over the edge!

I have an eruption green OBX and we opted to have it wrapped in XPEL PPF--gloss, not matte.
We paid $3500 for the entire vehicle, including a ceramic coating on top of the PPF.

The benefit of XPEL is that they 3D scanned the bronco and have a computer program that will cut the pieces of PPF for a perfect fit (Think CNC for vinyl). After seeing the machine cut precision, i'd say there's no way an expert human hand could come close, nevermind an amature. Probably not worth trying to do it yourself.

Between the precision cut pieces and the self-healing properties of the PPF, i'd say the cost was definitely worth it. I went through some bushes this weekend that would have left the paint pinstriped. Sure, I could paint the entire Bronco for nearly the same price as the PPF, but not after every weekend.

Shop around, i had quotes between 2500--7000. I found a good quote from a reputable shop, and I am super happy with the outcome.

Thank you so much for that input! XPEL quoted me $9500 for the PPF so I was hoping to find something a tad cheaper, thus the DIY thoughts lol

We went back n forth on the PPF topic. We even worked with core suppliers to create a magnetic paint protection system for bronco earlier this year (see beta test pics attached) but since decided to go with another program.

We decided that our broncos limited use didn't warrant PPF or its super high install price. Plus you can get a new perfect paintjob for the price of PPF. Plus PPF is difficult to remove when it wears out after 5-10 years pending how well its maintained.

I think a lot can be said about how well a bronco has been cared for if no PPF applied i.e. if bronco has no signs of rock chips, dings or paint issues. Well maintained. However, if you can afford it, clear or matte PPF is a good investment especially on a bronco or valuable sports car. Clear gloss PPF would be my choice over matte finish but to each their own.

Honestly I wish vehicle mfg would offer PPF from the factory.

At the minimum hand wash only, claybar as needed, and wax quarterly. Ceramic coat is also a much cheaper option but obviously not as durable.

I'm in Calgary, Canada. Shop is called "Auto Protectors"
I can't say enough good things about them--they went above and beyond my expectations for installation, walked me through their work on pick-up, and even fixed a very minor issue, no questions asked, after the fact.
