Ford themselves only installs paint protection film at the factory… so if you didn’t get it as part of your order then you can’t get it Ford.
However, many dealers offer paint protection film packages. Some do it themselves at the dealership with their own aftermarket/detail department, others will contract out to another company… it all varies and the cost/quality will vary as well.
Personally I think film it is the best way to protect your paint. BUT… the film doesn’t last forever—especially if you park outside—and you will have to get it replaced eventually. If you get a quality film and it’s installed properly, it should last 5-8 years or so. If you get a lower quality film… might only get a year out of it. This combined with the relatively high cost (usually costs a couple thousand to install), and I personally would rather just detail my paint myself in the driveway.
BUT, if you ask my neighbor he will 100% disagree with me and he will tell you paint protection film is absolutely worth it. He had the paint protection film on his order originally but was forced to take it off since it was heavily constrained. After his Bronco arrived, he had film installed by our local dealer, and I have to admit it looks fantastic.
