After 11 years of the Jeep wave, I'm waved out :) However, if and when I ever get my Bronco (It's already been over 16 months) and, if I should see a hand go up from another Bronco driver, whatever the Bronco's age or configuration, I'll still most likely raise my fingers over the top of the wheel out of habit and muscle memory. Meanwhile, I'll enjoy observing the BF community negotiate what will become the eventual Bronco wave
"If and when" is the key thing, the Bronco will probably be getting a refresh by time they get off their dead butts and build 2 doors with hard tops.

I had to look up to see if we had any bronco etiquette. Ana so I revived an old post. So nobody can say go look it up... lol

I have found myself giving a wave to broncos that have modifications or a 2 door squatch.
I suppose a "tip of the Stetson" would be more a bronco thing.

Yes as a jeep owner, I get the wave and I never tired of it. My old Willy's is not always recognized by the"new" jeep drivers. And I think that's funny. And the ones that do recognize the heritage seem to go out of their way to wave.

Anyway , just wondering what others are doing now.

I’m trying to figure all this etiquette stuff out too b/c as you saw, I just got “bucked” (see “what did you do to your Bronco today”). I’ve been accused of being rude on this forum before when I was only trying to be helpful and polite! 🤷‍♂️

I like to acknowledge all Broncos I see. I have been doing this 🤙
However, I rarely get a response back, but that's OK.
Our 1st drive in it (my Bronco, I drove it home from the dealership), we passed an early gen and he flashed his lights at us. I was stoked.
You could wear out your 2 fingers when I had a Wrangler, there are so many of them. But I would wave at all Jeeps, no matter how old.
Cannot get into the "buck" thing though. And to see these Wranglers and Gladiators proudly displaying their bath tub toys on their dash just baffles me.

I've had two jeeps and always got a jeep wave from other jeep drivers and returned it. Since January when I got my Bronco, I have gotten one wave from dozens of Broncos that I've passed which I returned.
It appeared to be a hookem horns type wave, but it was pretty quick and it could have been something else, lol. Any wave given will be returned if I see it in time, but that's just me, I'll wave at anybody LOL.

Class of ‘23 so it’s all new to me…prerequisite - hand is visible on the steering wheel.

Bronco - hand wave to all, so few as it is…those paying attention double take looks realizing they just saw a Heritage.

Jeep - V wave to any larger than base or White tops.

Defender - more of these than Broncos so… hand wave to White Steelies 😏

My Spouse keeps abusing me for waving to Like Minded Individuals(LMIs) in their awesome SUVs but recently caught herself with an impromptu wave to a passing Bronco 😄

She also noticed our HE-MAN got a 👍 from a passing Harley Cruiser the other day!!!

So you use both middle fingers for a proper jeep wave? and just the Wranglers, or all jeeps? 😎

I got my 1947 jeep in 1975. There was no, Internet, no jeep forum, no written rules.
When any jeep Cj, passed we waved. There was nothing saying how your supposed to wave.

We didn't wave at gladiator, wagoneer, post office jeeps, or Cherokee.
I would return a wave from one because maybe they had a Cj at home.
A Wrangler was not a Cj
As I recall it was iffy to wave at the new square headlight wrangler. We all knew that real jeeps had round headlights... Lol
And if they looked like a mall crawler, no wave.

If I saw a bronco, scout or Land Rover that looked like it went 4 wheeling, they got a wave.

I guess we were driving uncomfortable, single purpose type vehicles and we got it.
I still have my jeep and I'm still not on a jeep forum. So I'm sticking to the jeep wave of Old.
If you're in a Cj I wave. if you're in a Wrangler or bronco that looks like you take it off road, I'll wave.

If you're in a flat fender you get a big wave and big smiles.

Maybe a hang loose "Shaka" kind of wave that seems to be what I see most around these parts.

Got my first wave yesterday (Saturday) around 1100 at Wrigley.. 😁 It was from a Cyber Orange Metallic. It happened too fast I was barely able to wave back, but I think it was a BL.

I would have to exit the vehicle so I could put the Stetson on.... Wait... first I would have to get a Stetson.
Don't own one because....Long ago I worked in a CW Saloon. You could usually tell the real cowboys from the Urban want to be's by their hat.... Most of the real cowboys showed up with a baseball cap. 😂 ... Not to sure what it is like elsewhere though. Tried cowboy boots as well.... That lasted a whole month before I could not stand it anymore. My feet are too wide.

I met one of the Stetson's at the track one day during a vintage event.Nicest guy you could ever meet.Only cowboy hat I'll wear.
But as for tipping the hat or waving, I'll leave to the jeepers and the guys that ride Milwaukee vibrators
