I have a question and I'm looking for folks to weigh in on my dilemma. I made a fatal error the other day and cracked the taillight lens on my 2022 Badlands. Before I order an OEM replacement taillight from Ford, and wait who knows how long for the part. I found that Oracle Lighting sells flush mount taillights that are amazing to look at. The lights are described as plug and play, however, you must change the lighting codes in Forscan in order for the taillights to function properly. I don't know anything about ForScan, but I'm a quick learner. Oracle Lighting requires preorder with delivery sometime in late September. The other potential negative is that the turn signals are red and not the OEM yellow. My dealer's parts department quoted me $1,084. for one taillight. Changing the ForScan voids the warranty. Lastly, I question if by changing the codes in ForScan would affect the vehicle's warranty. The positives are Oracle lights are $450. for a pair, they are flush to the body and 3" slimmer than OEM. The white backup lights are described as extremely bright, so no need to worry about dimly lit areas. What would you do? OEM or aftermarket and why? Sorry I can't help you with Forscan question but I will chime in and tell you to get those lights! They are so nice looking and make me think of the original bronco being flush with the body lines like that. I will most likely order those next year for my bronco.

I like the look of the Oracle tail lights. They are on my list of wanted Mods. Not high on my list though. Since you need to replace a tail light assembly, and you want the Oracle product, you should probably just buy those. From what you are saying, you will have the added expense of forscan as well to consider. I can't speak to the warranty issue. If I made such a change, the warranty would not even enter in to my thinking. Forscan has been around for a while. If warranty issues have been a problem, I think it would be common knowledge.

Well then you'd be voiding warranty. Wouldn't mess with that until you're out of warranty.

Why not have a dealer make the necessary code changes? Find one who is knowledgeable and willing in your area (if actually possible) then you won’t have to worry about the warranty.

Just using FORScan does not void your warranty. If you brick a module using FORScan, then that module wouldn’t be covered under warranty.

I like the lights and would get them. :)

Forscan adapter is about $50ish on Amazon and the software is free online.

Broken parts are just the good Lords way of saying time to upgrade.

I think these lights look nice, and really the FORSCAN issue is not that big a deal to navigate. Having the reader is worthwhile and you can do other fun things like eliminate the dreaded double honk when you close the door with the keys inside.

Yah but the electronics warranty is voided and if something other than the Module goes out your stuck with the payment.

No Forscan has many functionalities (door close horn(annoying AF LOL), other horn sounds, fog lights on/off with headlights, wheel/speed accuracy, trailer setup, etc). Nothing to void a warranty electronics based or otherwise and dealers use it all the time. If one is worried about the switch of taillights could probably simple run to your dealer and have them update it for a good service charge

Oracle's taillights require you to change the ForScan codes because they didn't design their lights to match Ford's programs. I suppose changing code can be switched back to OEM if something fails.

anything in Forscan can be changed back to factory with a few clicks or simply if you saved the factory settings(highly recommended).

Lights look cool! Interesting idea to keep them flush......sucks you need a scan tool to install them tho.

Great point. I didn't see that info in the product description. I'll have to get that answer before finalizing the purchase.
