Wondering what everyone thinks of the oil catch can system for use on their Bronco? Good? Bad? Indifferent? Do they really help, make a difference or are they more problems than solution?

Most things I've seen suggest them for the 2.3 because it's only direct inject, possibly leading the caking the catch cans help alleviant. As said above there has been must discussion on this.

People will argue the merits of the catch can until they're blue in the face but the fact of the matter is the 2.3L has an air/oil separator built into it, which functions the same as a catch can but returns the oil to the system instead of holding it in a can. Like every mechanical system, however, it is not 100% efficient which means if you run a catch can you will catch some of the oil that slips through. For me, it's not enough to worry about. Then again, I'm also not rushing out to put hood struts on a hood I don't plan on opening more than once a month or an engine cover on an engine I only hope to see for a few moments at a time.

Can't hurt to get it.

Speaking from experience, took my girl to the dealer yesterday with a Turbosmart BOV and UPR Catch can in sight, and they didn't say anything, although the saleswoman did invite me to the car show they're hosting next month and offered me a spot in front to show case it's potential

Good article. I ordered mine. Keep it clean as possible, last a little longer!

I’m not disparaging catch cans, but isn’t Mishimoto like one of the only manufactures of them? I’d hope their articles would talk them up, lol.

I would have asked how much they were willing to pay.

A guy I know has installed catch cans on many of his cars. He’s used mishimoto quite a bit. They do make a rock solid product for sure.
