@Lots O Fords, do you have experience with rodeo, or are you just a fan? My fiction has a serious rodeo subplot, and I'm on the lookout for somebody who's knowledgeable about the sport (team roping, especially) who could give it a read as a fact-checker. People who have read it find it very readable--honest--including alpha males.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts and concern with the devastation we are dealing with in CT. FEMA has been here and like any other government agency they are as worthless as tits on a bull, but we are tough and will survive in spite the state and federal apathy.

Got a call from the fella that hired me back in 2001 and he lost his wife of 51 years this week. (High school sweethearts) He was more than a boss as we became great friends and they were more family than friends. Way too young at 69 to go but I'm not in charge of that department. So....again I say go forth and be good humans as you just never know when the sands in the hour glass will run out. Cheers Ms. Kay RIP!

Awakened this morning by lots of machines on the block as they sweep and clean our little street, and then plan on laying down chip-seal to see if we can get another 10 years out of our street…. Thinking the Bronco and F150 will stay home today and away from the road tar and windshield pellets…. Will take the wife’s Escape if needed as its white and any gunk that might get on it will be easier to see and remove (at least that’s my rationale).

Peet’s Major Dickinson is brewed for those needing a break. Looks like we’re sitting under a bit of a heat dome, and one app shows a high of 99° today, which I’m guessing would a record for 9/5…. Hoping its not quite so high, but guessing @Lots O Fords is liking this warmth as he enjoys The Rodeo!.

Hoping everyone traveling to SCW has a great trip. Takes lots of pictures!

Normally any fire INSIDE the park they let it do it's "Natural" thing but they jumped on this one and have it contained since it was so close to town. Thank goodness. 1988 here was enough fire for me for a lifetime!
