Odometer Reading "-----.-mi"

See pic. While parked at Walmart last weekend waiting for the family to run in real quick (getting candy for trick or treaters) I noticed the odometer read "00000.0mi" while the bronco was calmly idling @ 800rpm. In reality the odometer is actually 3700 miles after 15 months of ownership.

I first tried to re-start the engine to re-cycle everything but didn't fix it. So you can imagine at this point I was like "well how am I going to explain this to the wife lol" who btw use to be a service writer for Ford.

Family arrive a few min later. I noted the issue then started driving home. Next thing I hear is the wife saying with her sweet & confident ex-service writer voice "look hun, your odometer is back to normal" and when I did it showed 3700 miles back on the clock. God Bless Her haha

Thankfully everything is fine with the bronco but what is the point of this odometer feature?

Additionally, has anyone else ever noticed it on their bronco while parked with the vehicle left on for more than 5-10 minutes?

3700 miles in 15 months?!? I have 11k at 6 months. I haven't had this but last week when coming back from Canada I switched back from km/h to mph but the mileage wasn't changing back to miles. It finally corrected itself but man was I concerned that the next time I had service done they'd write down the kilometers as miles.

Yes, very low mile Bronco. We have different goals for ours and honestly it should have about 1K less miles than it does. Here is a pic of it taken yesterday. Still mint. I actually just applied tire shine and did a proper tire clean last weekend, first time in 15 months. Every other time just soap and water.

Nice. I usually try to keep my milage low while still enjoying them, but with this rig I'm going to drive the wheels off it. Also first time I've ever purchased an ESP so I don't have to worry about the warranty either unless all parts become extinct (😨)

Amen. Yes, all of our accessories are under a 6 year warranty, along with factory warranty etc. so we have little to worry about. We drive ours often just not very far because we live 5 min from everything. We have taken a couple road trips as well. Lots of fun

Just passed 14,000 miles at 6 months, which includes 4,000 miles to and from Utah, and about 1,000 miles there. Now let me tell you how much I love my Bronco...!!!😘 😀 😍

This is why I hate digital displays as well as digital only controls. So much to go wrong.

I do think the Bronco's meshing of digital and analog speedos is a nice touch.

Dang our short trips are 15 minutes one way. No wonder I have 200 miles on mine already.

Digital technology is powerful. Remember the old joke--goes back to the 1990s, "Anybody can make a mistake, but to really louse things up you need a computer...?" I basically feel more safe and secure in my chip-laden Bronco, much more so than my 2009 Sienna (probably parted out now).
The downside is your neighborhood mechanic can do less and less--you're at the mercy of your dealer and his "technicians" (they're not "mechanics," you know). I think of my 12-year-old double-oven, now dead: 1) the computer panel is kaput, 2) replacing it approaches or exceeds the cost of a replacement, and 3) Manufacturers (in appliances at least) aren't required to provide replacement parts for units over ten years old. I shudder at what the situation will be when EVs dominate the roadway.
A little off-Bronco advice, folks: If you're buying an appliance, insist on one with analogue switches and dials. You'll thank me 10 or 15 years from now. (Maybe in only 5?)

I've actually gotten use to and enjoy the bronco digital + "analog" gauge cluster on our 2.3 MT after looking at it for 15 months.

In 2022 stacked laundry centers are few and far between. I went lux and bought the Speed Queen stacker. They are supposed to be 20-year machines. Full digital control, which is far better than the clock controls of yore for custom wash cycles. But I do worry about obsolescence of the e-controls. I would think Speed Queen will hold to its adage of great support for longevity of their equipment. Looking at the mechanical design, it is simple and robust. I'd expect the control computer can be redesigned for form, fit, and function over the next 20 years.
We're getting far afield, but I agree with you.
I see stacked units at appliance and big-box retailers. My guess is that as housing and apartment structures are getting reduced in size (supply & inflation issues, for starters), laundry facilities, be they separate rooms or kitchen-located, must compete for other living space.
Hence, stacked units.
Good luck with your purchase. Now I have to get the make and model numbers for two refrigerators (rental units) to provide an appliance repair service before they come out. ...Groan....😞
