No more automatic connect to WiFi

I've noticed lately that my phone won't connect to the WiFi in the Bronco (found out by not paying attention to the wifi logo and ran out of cell phone data in my plan). Now I have to manually connect every time. I did the usual turn off/turn on, forget network, automatically connect etc.

Anyone else have that issue?

wait--- our broncos have wifi? I always just use the unlimited data on my cell phone plan, but I guess I didn't realize they had wifi built in. is there a charge for it?

All fords with sync use Wi-Fi connection when in the driveway (or garage) to communicate, supposedly update (not perfect) and send data back and forth to the mother ship.

If your vehicle has Ford-connect, which Im guessing new Broncos will, you have a cellular connection available in the vehicle, but there has always been a charge for this (after an occasional free period).

I believe most do what you do and use their cellphones as hotspots within their cars.

Yes there is a cell hotspot in the car and there is a charge if you choose to connect it (not automatic). Like you I see no need to pay for it my phone has unlimited data and when I’m parked at home it can use the house Wi-Fi for updates which they prefer anyway.

Yes there is an available ATT 4G in vehicle WiFi--supports up to 11 devices simultaneously. You get a 3 month free trial which you can set up via the FordPass App and in-vehicle controls. Wife & I don't use much data on the phones so I do the annual unlimited plan in the Bronco for $200. While out and about or on road trips you can stream away and not have to worry about data.

Yes, I'm having this issue with my iPhone 13--interestingly my wife's iPhone 8 Plus connects every time...recently updated both to iOS 16 and still having the issue. No issues in my 2021 F350 with Sync 3, connects every time. Hopefully we can find a fix because it's a PITA.
