I have to admit the new Z06 looks fun. But. That deposit agreement is trash. Just say 6K down payment due at signing. Even then it should only say 500 because what the heck is a 6K deposit going to do to make the lender feel better about loaning 190K for a vet (184K after DP, but before tax and fees)??!! *No lender, zero, will go beyond 120% loan to value. So if you want the Z06, its going to cost you a HELL of a lot more out of pocket than 6K.

There should be only custom orders at MSRP. If you back out you forfeit your deposit (earnest fee). Chevy would sell a ton of Z06s.

We've worked with thousands of dealerships over many years. The ones that do this to customers ($90k OVER msrp) are dirtbags.

Ps-we inquired price on a new final edition NSX recently and the dealer wanted a minimum of 100K OVER MSRP. Its a rare cool car but...we ended the call. No way

I’d buy an R34 and completely restore it, boost the crap out of it, and get 900 hp AWD for a lot less than that lol

I think everyone needs to appreciate the Z06. It is a great vehicle. I would never buy it. But least America can compete with foreigners. That's how I look at it.
As a piece of machinery yeah, I just would like to think we can compete without having to adopt their design schtick.

I’m more old school. The new Vettes don’t have soul imho. Sold my 63 Split Window a few years back. It was a great car. Drew a crowd everywhere it went.

The dealer is being upfront, so you can choose to go down that path or not. This is much better than a surprise ADM

There are views that look good, but it's not a corvette anymore . I know that's probablynot a popular comment.

You and me both... R34.. so nice.

Either that or buy a new GTR and bank the $70k... or add $20k and get a Nismo edition.

Yeah those are the classic Corvettes, right in their sweet spot of design. I’d argue the 70's Stingray still had that Corvette swagger.

This is just such a departure, why even badge it as a Corvette anymore ? The same thing was happening to the Mustang in the 80's' and into the 90's. FORD was smart enough to go back to its roots, and Capture that pony Car spirit, and look at it now.[/QUOTE]

I agree and love my mustang, but they're killing the v8 too. The next version may not even have one, we won't know till they unveil it, but Ford has certainly teased its going away. Look at the gt 40. If you can make a ttv6 make so much hp and torque, why do you need a v8 anymore?

Personally, I'm a v8 guy, and I don't think there's any comparison. But to people who keep saying they want to see a coyote in a Bronco (myself included), it seems pretty unlilley...

Yeah, that's been coming for a while. There's a guy who posts lots of Facebook videos. He's a high end car rental guy, up in Jersey I think. He posted on that very topic a few days ago about V8's going the way of the dinosaur as EV invades the auto world.

He talked about how V8 cars, and other high end sports car values will begin to sky rocket as the V8's, and other big engines are legislated away. I think something will replace the V8 with power, but nothing can ever really replace it in the minds of all the car guys, and gals out there who grew up with them. I've ridden in a new Tesla, and while it is a 100% soulless vehicle (which I despise in cars) it's also the fastest 0-60 thing I've ever ridden in.

I met my buddy for cocktails last weekend. I rolled up in my built 16 mustang gt, and him in his new Maserati. We're getting out of our cars and a little soccer mom rolls by in her tesla and looks at us like 'awwwwwwwwwwwww, you guys are cute with your sports cars. Wanna race?'.

Lol. And we talked about how she'd wup us both off the line....
