A few weeks ago it was mentioned that Ford would have something special to announce about the bronco at the Dream Cruise. After twisting @Deano Bronc arm a little bit, we decided to meet up on Saturday and see what was new.

Last week @David said he had some seats for something special on Friday evening. Dean and I jumped at the chance and the next thing we know, we are sitting VIP for the reveal that Ford was putting on.

At the reveal, we learned about the U260 concept bronco that Ford was designing from1997-1999 and why they stopped designing it.

Then we learned about the 2004 concept Bronco. This was driven by Dwayne Johnson(The Rock) in the 2018 movie Rampage.

After learning about the concept broncos, it was time for the reveal!

After the reveal, they got all of us Bronco Nation members together. All of us introduced ourselves, then we went on a personal guided tour around each concept Bronco and told us about how everything came together.

I grew up in Kalamazoo, MI and got my drivers license in 1983. Every Friday and Saturday night you would find me out cruising the strip(Westnedge). It was the place to be. Everyone parked along the strip and watched the cars cruising. It wasn’t long after I got my license and the bad apples ruined it for everyone. Beer cans and broken bottles in all the parking lots brought the law down hard and the cruising was put to an end.

My wife and I arrived several hours early to the reveal. We had never been there and wanted to get familiar with everything before it was time for the event. We stopped by the place where they were doing the reveal and checked out the Riptide.

Woodward Ave - This is the grand daddy of cruises! Woodward Ave has 8 lanes and it’s divided in the center. 4 lanes go each way and it was bumper to bumper, door handle to door handle. If you are a motor head, this is the place to be! Every vehicle imaginable is cruising up and down the strip. People are lined up on both sides of the road with canopy tents, lawn chairs and grills. If you go there and break out the chairs, get a spot just after a street light.

My wife and I set up lawn chairs for about an hour and watched the cars and trucks cruise by. Almost every green light, tires were squealing and engines were coming to life. Then there is the frequent sweet smell of racing gas.

Saturday morning we were up early and at the Bronco corral by 8am. I wanted to see Broncos and take pictures before everyone showed up. I took LOTS of pictures!!!

We had to leave early to get home, so we did not make it to any of the other areas like Mustang Alley on the strip.

Next year we plan to be at the Dream Cruise and will have our grill with us!

Great posts! I too fondly remember the good old days of cruising in the early 80’s! Same thing happened out in the Bay Area and it went the way of the dinosaurs. There was a spontaneous cruise night back last October. Probably 500-600 cars. People had enough of the lock down

It was great meeting up with you and Cindy. The Dream Cruise is something everyone should do at least once. It's hard to describe the feeling you get looking at all the classic and current hot rods. There are so many people there and they are all just hanging out and having a great time. I've been to several Dream Cruises and this one was busier than all the previous. I think people appreciated this year's Cruise much more than usual since missing it last year. Over a million people focusing on one thing, the automobile both past and present.

It was also great to meet @David , @Laura , @dwrock and @bdawson24 . Having the opportunity to be part of something special Friday night meant a lot. You all did an awesome job setting up the Bronco corral and I can't imagine how much this will grow next year. Hopefully there will be a lot of BN members rolling up in their Broncos including both @SlashRacer and I. Either way, I plan on being back next year.

My wife and I were there but I missed the Bronco Nation tour, I didn't hear that announced, I don't hear well. We did get to have a long chat with one of the designers. We had a great time. Sorry we missed you all.

Dang, so sorry we didn't get to meet. I knew you were going to try and be there. I think we need some kind of BN name tag so we know who is who.
