What have you all done about mud flaps? I feel like that should be my first upgrade. What else do you all think is a must have upgrade? #newbie

Front only to protect flares if you have an outer banks. It is not an easy job. The Ford flaps have to be cut to fit if you have running boards, and the crash bars have to removed and replaced. Overall, about a 4-6 hour job and you need an oscillator saw or a band saw. Then, while the flaps will help prevent paint chips, they might get ripped off if you go off road. Decisions, Decisions! By the way, taking them off for off reading is no 10 minute job!!

Spend the money and buy RokBlokz.
Once installed they are truly on/off in 5 minutes for the set for rock crawling, etc. Well-designed, strong, and they have multiple color options.
I’m an avid user of the product-not a paid endorser. 😊
EDIT: I just tried to put a link in for you but I failed the mission…
I suggest you call them or email them. Their website says they’re reworking the Bronco section. This is a family owned business out of Orem, Utah. FYI
GatorBack flaps are very good ones. They lower flap can be removed on the trail if you get into rocks, etc. They do a good job of protecting, very heavy duty. Come with all the hardware to mount, including brackets, no drilling. You can install with or without crash bars. Did I say they are good!! Sorry, don't have any pictures. Can order from SharpTruck. Make sure you tell them if you have rock rails, steps, or hoop steps.

Ford mudflaps are only for rigs with no rock sliders, I went with IAG, look good and less expensive like some of the other brands that I would worry about them on a trail

I made my own before anyone had anything available. They look just like the RokBlokz but without any logos.

+1 for RokBlokz XL with the quick release allen bolt kit on the Sasquatch. Fronts only because I don't care about the guy driving behind me. They really do come off in about 5 minutes trailside with one tool.
I pulled them off our '21 this week with 30,000 miles on them, repainted the brackets because the powder coating they use is crap, and will bolt them on our new '23 on Monday.
It's a great product from a ho-hum company because they don't sell replacement parts, and charge a 100% Bronco tax. The Bronco flaps are twice as expensive as the Jeep ones.

I put thumb screws on my ROKBLOKZ. No tools required for quick removal reinstall. FWIW.
I went with Rally Armor and they are great. I felt like the price was fairly in the middle of what some were spending. I also thought if they are good enough for people to rave about in the rally car sport they must be durable. They were fairly quick and easy to install and customer service was great. They sell multiple options to accommodate the running boards and bumper styles.
