I know for the country the most popular color was Area 51 and the least popular was Lightning Blue (First Edition exclusive color). Most popular trim was Badlands... least popular was First Edition.

As for the exact rankings... I don't know if Ford has released those. But here was the breakdown at my dealer:

Colors:
  1. Cactus Gray
  2. Area 51
  3. Carbonized Gray
  4. Velocity Blue
  5. Antimatter Blue
  6. Oxford White
  7. Cyber Orange
  8. Rapid Red
  9. Shadow Black
  10. Race Red
  11. Lightning Blue
  12. Iconic Silver
Trims:
  1. Badlands
  2. Wildtrak
  3. Outer Banks
  4. Black Diamond
  5. Big Bend
  6. Base
  7. First Edition

Thanks for the reply! I found what you provided really interesting. I wasnt expecting to see Cactus Gray so high on the list, being that I havent seen many videos or articles that mentions Cactus Gray beyond mentioning it as a color option. It also makes me scratch my head as to why Ford decided to pull Antimatter Blue and Rapid Red when they seem to fall in the middle of the pack. I was going to order a Rapid Red Wild Trak 2Dr w/ Sasquatch, but that's not happening now.

In regards to the Trims, I wasn't expecting to see the 2 highest price trims (Badlands and Wildtrak) at the top of the list. I was expecting to see the middle trim packages higher on the list or even at the top thinking they would fit into more peoples budget than the higher packages, but what I think this shows is that Ford priced the upper trims align with what people can afford. In comparison, the Badlands and Wildtrak price out less than an equivalent Jeep Wrangler by probably $5k. Interesting.

Thanks again!

Ford released early numbers from the 125k converted reservations. Badlands, Wildtrak, outer bank and first editions counted for over 70%. Keep in mind the first edition was limited. The lower trims were all fairly similar in take rate and pretty low. The take rate of 4drs was well over 70%. The real question is how did the stats change over the year as people modified their initial builds and what was actually built. There was also something like 65k reservations that either 99d or didn’t covert at all during the early conversion cut off but did not cancel their reservation. Mid year, many higher trim orders opted for lower trims hoping to get built. Some 2dr orders changed to 4dr to opt for the soft top and get a build date similarly many Wildtrak orders changed to badlands and others to select a soft top and potentially get a build date. Stats were probably very dynamic month to month late summer.

My dealer is located in a upper middle class suburb. The kind of suburb where the starting price on a house is $300,000 and the average house probably costs around $450,000 - $500,000. (Too expensive of a city for me, but they're the highest performing dealer in the state, so I was willing to drive an extra 20 minutes to order my Bronco from them.) I'm guessing the location may have to do with the skew towards the higher trims. In addition, people who are likely to pre-order a vehicle and wait 8 months to get it are probably largely enthusiasts who really want the upper trims. People looking at the lower trims are (generally speaking) probably searching for a good deal, or perhaps just waiting for used Broncos.

Also worth noting those were my dealers rankings from June. To @Chaos point, I'm sure a few people switch to lower trims in hopes to get their Bronco faster. In fact... there was only one customer who ordered Iconic Silver, and he originally ordered an Wildtrak. When I was at the dealership placing my 2022 order, I noticed a Iconic Silver Big Bend with a soft top with a "sold" sticker in the window. Turns out that Bronco belonged to the guy who originally had the Wildtrak on order, but he switched to a Big Bend in order to get his Bronco built faster. It was sitting at the dealership waiting for some custom aftermarket accessories (leather seats from Katzkin and new wheels/tires).

All that said... I betcha their rankings aren't too far off from the countrywide rankings. My brother lives in a rural part of Washington state, and I know at his dealer the Badlands and Black Diamond are the two most popular trims instead of Badlands and Wildtrak. But the color rankings are nearly identical--Area 51 was the most popular color at his dealership, and Shadow Black was more popular than Rapid Red, but otherwise they match up.

Very disappointed that rapid red was discontinued. It is an amazing color. There are a lot of red cars/trucks/suvs but the depth of rapid red was really special.
