Here is a post I found:

"When I purchased my truck in April the salesman warned me that Ford as a whole company has been having issues with their vehicle modems going bad and not working anymore. So you might want to take it back in and mention that to them. He said they've had to replace many modems on vehicles right after they sell them because the modem went bad while the car was sitting on the lot.'

5000 Broncos in Dirt Mountain. But mine was not. Ford Parts dont have part numbers in Bronco 2023 catalog in parts counter. Was at dealer yesterday. Part man said put ampmeter to see draw. He had no clue where it was on Broncos. Ranger says under glove box.

There is some numbers on it . See below.

Mini 5 amp fuse is inside fuse box @60 Telemetry. Some say black box has built in GPS chip. Box has two antenna input one 4G cellular (pink) and other wifi (AT&T) beige plugs.

Battery drain may be issue. My phone works in Blue tooth but Ford Pass Cloud has stop working, just had battery checked OK.
Call Ford Pass . System down!

Frank-

I know you are very concerned about the battery drain/charge in the truck. I have noticed that the voltage gauge on the charge certainly moves through the voltage more than I anticipated, but that is called out as a thing that is going to happen in the manual.

As to the drain- I havent noticed any issues with it. But I think if you are really worried about it, I would just plumb in a battery disconect and cut it off when I parked, especially if I am not daily driving. I had one on my CJ back in the day, but that was mainly about it not getting stolen.

These are like 12 bucks on Amazon.

This entire post is nonsense folks.

If anyone thinks you can slap an AGM battery into a car with zero modifications to the electrical systems you are a dolt.

The damn battery is dead because you fried it. This entire thread need to be deleted.

The modem isn't draining a damn thing, they pull MILLIAMPS. Your phone charger pulls more power ffs.

Frank the only issue that I have found with the Modems so far is the connection between the Ford Pass app to the Modem, this seems to be on the early MY2023.
The fix for it comes out in the middle of June and it’s a simple Update/Download to your vehicle.
The only way that the Battery is being drained from the Router is you must have a 9 Volt house battery hooked up to your Bronco.
Good Luck to you and your Service Department in finding out what the problem is.

Just out of curiosity!!!
Is there anything about your Bronco you like or haven’t had a problem with? because that would be an interesting conversation!
