Hello everyone:

I was just having fun looking at tires (guilty habit) and decided to see what the best A/T tire there was. I narrowed it down to Mickey Thomson Baja Boss A/T and BFG All-Terrain K02s. I thought for sure BFGs would be best but after further research Mickey Thompson leveled the playing field. Has anyone had any experience with the Mickey Thompsons? I have the K02s on our Raptor and currently running Wrangler Duratrecs on our F150 (which I don't recommend, horrible tire noise after 5 years). I'm mostly looking at tire noise, since as far as I know you can't go wrong with either one off-road.

Thanks!

KO2s are tried and true, and are basically the "benchmark" A/T tire that every other all-terrain tire is compared against. It is my personal favorite all-around tire when you combine functionality, price, durability, noise, everyday drivability, etc.

Baja Boss A/T are effectively brand new—was released a little over a year ago but supply has been so low that they've been difficult to obtain. Early reviews have been good... BUT... we are missing a key component of the tire equation: How well the tire holds up over time. Baja Boss M/T is one of the better mud-terrain tires on the market, so my guess Baja Boss A/T will be solid. But honestly we just don't know yet.

Also worth noting that the Baja Boss A/T was one of the very first tires Mickey Thomson has released since they were bought by Goodyear—not sure if that is a concern to you since you aren't a fan of the Wrangler DuraTracs. Unlikely that Goodyear had any say in the design of the Baja Boss A/T, that product was probably in development well before Goodyear bought them. But still something to note.
