If you have a few hours to kill and want to do some overland driving, there is a Hill Country route that is pretty decent. Several different routes you can take, but can be done in half a day easy if you do part of it.

We are doing a Saturday evening meet up! A lot of us are flying in Friday night and flying home Sunday.

I'll check our calendars early next week, wife is out of town, but we might be able to make it. She does want to do that half day tour thing they offer, since we bought ours used.
