Hi all, wondering what everyone is using on their hardtops as far as care goes?

Id also like to know thoughts on basic paint protection products…

I know that’s gonna be VERY opinionated, but I’m looking for an easy but durable spray-on product. I’m too old (and now broke Lol) for some of these things.

thanks in advance

Here is what Ford says about MIC top care.

2021-2022 Bronco vehicles equipped with the hard top roof option are compatible with traditional drive through car washes. Plastic surface conditioners and spray (liquid) wax/detailer products may also be used for care and maintenance. Avoid cleaning the hard top exterior surface with power tools/buffers, rubbing/polishing compounds and paste waxes/polishes as this could scratch or damage the surface. Cleaners that contain alcohol and other strong solvents such as toluene or acetone must never be used. Using those types of cleaners may cause unrepairable damage to the surface of the hard top. In all cases, verify compatibility in an inconspicuous location prior to broad application.

It's not super durable, but Meguiar's Quick Detailer would work on the top. One of their liquid waxes would work well on the paint. The products are good, they are easy to use, they don't leave a bunch of white residue. They are widely available at Wal-Mart and most parts stores, and they are reasonably priced There are better products out there, but they are harder to find and usually quite a bit pricier.

A good leather cleaner like Meguiar's leather care products should work well on vinyl and plastics.
I haven't tried it yet but I bet 303 Marine Aerospace Protectant would work well to provide UV protection.

I used to use 303 on my Wrangler soft top. It worked really well. Kept it looking like new.

303 is really good on plastic, vinyl, and rubber, Not sure how it will be on a hardtop, I don't think the hardtop will have any absorption. But 303 is WAAAAYYYY better than Armor-All.

303 also states it works well on gel coats, so it should help with our MIC tops pretty well. I'll be picking some up.

Any thoughts on ceramic or ceramic graphine sprays or coatings?

From what I have read on graphine products, they probably wouldn’t be good on the MIC tops because of the surface texture. It would be difficult to get the residue buffed off.

Through my research I've found some of them they say can be applied to paint, glass, plactics as well as rubber trim. But the MIC tip is a quandary. Wonder how it would change the look.

I have used 303 on interior plastics to good effect but 303 has little longevity on exterior plastics. Rain, heat and humidity just blast thru those “spray and wipe” protectants in 3-5 days. I’ve had great results on my performance cars’ small exterior plastics using ceramic coatings. For the Bronco MIC top, I’ll probably just have it professionally coated due to its size. Alternatively, if I decide to go with a color change then I’ll just have it wrapped.

I'm not an expert but Florida is really tough on tops and finishes and my Wildtrak will not fit in my 1948 garage not to mention it's love bug season here right now and these useless bugs will ruin a finish not to mention clog your radiator and inter cooler fins., I consulted with a few locals and one of my brothers who keeps all of his multiple vehicles and RVs immaculate. For day to day quick spray Turtle Wax Ice Seal N Shine, goes on quickly protects any surface is extremely hydrophobic seems to last several months and protects everything, I was also recommended to use Collinite Insulator No. 845 which I'm trying out on one section after an application of Jescar Power Lock Plus a Polymer sealant first. There is also a guy on Tube that was recommended to me that gives good advice and I've found helpful.

I was thinking about clear coating mine, but have found a small crack so going to have to do a warranty repair before I put anything on it so they don't try to get out of warranty.

Nice, but it doesn’t specify anything
