  • Purchase a Ford Blue Advantage® vehicle
  • Complete a Ford Service visit
  • Buy Ford Accessories online
  • Purchase an eligible Connected Services† product

Additionally, with the FordPass® Rewards Visa®†† card, every purchase you make will help you earn Points. You’ll also earn 2 Tier Activities on your first transaction of the year.

Log in to your Ford account or visit the FordPass Rewards homepage to learn more.

Must be enrolled in FordPass® Rewards to receive FordPass Rewards Points. Points are not redeemable for cash and have no monetary value. I like to maximize reward point programs, but I can't figure out how to make the most of the FordPass program. It seems like it is only worthwhile as a modest perk for new vehicle purchases, but not worth all the effort after that.

For example, I get between 350 and 550 points for each oil change between my two Ford vehicles. I change my oil at the dealership every 5000 miles. After two years, I have earned a little over 1700 points.

Ford's Reward promotions start between 24,000 and 30,000 points. They have a current promotion for a battery replacement for 30,000 reward points, which they list as a $150 value.

At the pace in which I get regular oil changes, I will have earned enough points for that $150 battery in about 14-16 years. Am I missing out on some other way to get points? Or is the program really that stingy?

I’m all in with rewards programs, but as @TechnicalDisaster points out, the return on investment needs to prove its worth. What volume of spending is necessary before the benefits are tangible, indeed motivational?

I must confess that most of my discretionary spending is already spent on Ford-related products and services; the primary beneficiary is my Bronco. So I would like rewards more often. Smaller, more frequent rewards are more appealing than those that are substantial, but require longer reimbursement periods. 🤓
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.

Like I mentioned, the points you get from a vehicle purchase were nice. I used mine to get free window tinting.

Most likely I won’t have enough points to spend until my next vehicle purchase, which won’t be for quite a while.

Since my Bronco will be close to 20 years old when I have earned enough points to spend them, it’s quite possible it will be in the junkyard by that time. Just think, my Bronco could be scrapped before I could spend the points I earned on its first oil change.

Ha ha, you guys crack me up @TechnicalDisaster and @BuckYeah , you are not seeing the bigger picture.

I have a simple process set up. I have the Ford Rewards Visa. I "think" unless they changed it, it gives 3% in rewards when used for gas. It's the only card I use for gas. So the points have been adding up to roughly $17-$25/month.

Now I could use that for oil changes (dealers like to charge around $105 to $120 for full synthetic change and tire rotation), but I prefer to do my own oil rather than spend 2 hours sitting at a dealership.

What I have been using it for lately has been Ford parts. I purchased the rear cargo mat and cargo net right from the start using the points for purchasing a new vehicle. After that I purchased a new headlight switch (not installed), because it has fog lights included, for my BaseSquatch. I've also purchased new temp sensors for my kid's 1999 Ranger.

And finally, let's be honest, no matter how long we've owned Ford's and how reliable they USED to be, well all that reliability went out the window with the new Bronco. Luckily for those of use who are OUT of warranty, we now have Ford parts for replacements bought with Ford Points. To date, I've purchased a new ambient air temp sensor ($5), because who wants a/c blasting in middle of winter when your temp sensor THINKS it's 113 degrees outside. I've also replaced my rear shock ($200+) because these Bilstein Sasquatch shocks like to rot out around 40k miles and leak fluid everywhere. And lastly let's not forget my c/v axle debacle, sure could have been user error, but at the same time the passenger side axle did have screwed up threads from the factory, so I'm going to give Ford partial blame on that one. There's another $495 in Ford Points out the window. The way I see it, bring back the TTB, that stuff was solid!

So now that I've probably lost your attention, let me end it by saying I've found "good" use for my Ford Points 😪

That’s literally why I posted? I didn’t see the bigger picture. Which seems to be that I need the Ford credit card for this program to make sense. My wife and I aggressively go after sky miles so we can take beach vacations. So we won’t be opening up a Ford card to buy Bronco parts.

Everyone’s situation is different, so it’s not fair to make sweeping generalizations. I don’t see added value for ME, but it may be justifiably reasonable for others. I paid for a full service warranty up front, I gas up twice a month and have only 6K miles after 13 months of ownership. I did use my points to purchase those fancy schmancy Gatorback mud flaps, which I’ve since removed, so there’s that. LOL

I stand by my comment, smaller and more frequent rewards are more motivational…to me. 😉

I think you guys missed the sarcasm in my post. Because honestly, if I wasn't replacing so many parts on my Bronco, then I wouldn't have the need for the card or these points. I agree I'd rather have a cash back or mileage card, but unfortunately, Ford has given me a need to have their card... if it's even worth it in the long run. I guess I like it because it's a Visa card, and Costco gas only accepts debit (no rewards on my debit) or Visa.

Gotcha, @EvlNvrDys. 🤓 It’s all good. I’m glad having the card takes the sting out of purchasing replacement parts (and/or making mods). I would consider getting the card if I needed more credit, but I’ve already been granted too much (and at a better APR), so it’s something I could pass on. I do like the fact that Ford has a rewards program, and that they’re improving and streamlining it. It beats having no rewards program whatsoever!

I bet they could cancel this program and turn it into a coupon or credit at ford. Think about how much they could save on manpower and resources needed to maintain this program. They could simply lower the cost of their products and services.
