I haven’t heard too much out of Ford on the manual transmission.

I know the transmission is going to be made outside of Ford. Is the supplier building these transmissions in any significant quantity yet?

Has it had very much testing in the field yet?

Is Michigan Assembly Plant running the manual variant down the assembly line yet?

I barely see any videos or content out on the manual transmission.

Will we see the manual transmission this year?

I am #2 out of 70 at my dealership supposed to get a Bronco. I ordered the manual badlands 2 door. Thoughts on potentially getting a 2021?

Thanks for any information. I work for Ford but unrelated to the Bronco.

Don’t know how many getrag have built. Several of the test Broncos people got photos of testing on different trails across US were the manual transmission so I would say they are doing extensive testing on it just like the auto. Not many broncos are going down the assembly like yet. Ford has never said we wouldn’t see manual trans Broncos delivered in 2021 so I don’t see why it wouldn’t happen. What was your reservation date? If you reserved in the first 2-3 days (July 13-15) chances are good that you will get MY21 but no guarantee as it depends on allocation across the country and if there are delays or not with parts.

Welcome aboard to BN!

Although this is a new Getrag trans, it appears Ford has been testing it extensively as @Hkak45 mentioned. It is unique to the Bronc so not a lot of info out there but I am excited and will be ordering for my Bronc. I am hopeful. Should be available this year unless paired with Sasquatch then is pushed to MY22. :)

On the potential for you receiving a MY21, I would say you have an excellent chance if you are #2 at your dealer. Many factors here though like dealer allocations, options (some are likely for delays and others are late availability) and res priority. Good convo to have with dealer as they should be able to shoot your straight on your chances. (y)

Getrag transmission have had a few issues in the past. So I am hoping this one will be a good one. I do have a Getrag with 357,000 miles on it all original. So I am hopeful my MT badlands will live a long life. But I ain’t sweating it, if it is not the best I am sure there will be a trans swap I can do.

Yeah, did my due diligence. 1st model year, brand new transmission built in China. Hard pass...

Luckily all first and second year will have bugs to be worked out. So does that mean you aren’t ordering a MY21 or MY22 Bronco? Both of them will have things go wrong other than the transmission. I am going MY21 with good warranty to be sure I won’t be out of pocket on anything.

MY 21, going with the 2.7 10 speed. Proven drive train at least...

All I know is from test driving a '20 GT at the dealer, it'll probably need a Stainless Steel clutch line and short shifter set to be flawless.

Other than that, easier than my Audi's trans snd just enjoyable

While I’m not crazy about Ford putting a Chinese transmission in the Bronco, I’m still happy they’re at least offering a manual.
Having owned quite a few late model vehicles, I doubt the manual transmission will make the top 10 maintenance issues. It will be bugs in all the licky chewy tech systems.
