Manual Availability vs Trim Packages

I While I'd prefer the 2.7, I'm a "save the manuals" kind of guy so I'd really want the stick. I've noticed that the manual availability is very limited, basically the Badlands and the Black diamond, and only w/o the Sasquatch package. Whats also wierd is on the BD you cannot add any of the packages without losing the 7-speed, where as on the Badlands you can option the Lux pkg while keeping the 7 speed. Anyone know why this is?

You can get the manual in the Base and Big Bend. You can also get the Manual with Sasquatch package, look for threads here that refer to "Mansquatch"

But Mansquatch isn't available until 2022. The upper trims add the remote start which on most trims takes off the manual.

Really? The build and price doesn't seem to think so. I'd be OK with a Black Diamond if I could get mid or High pkg with the manual, but the current build and price doesnt allow that.

Yep, but not if you want things like 360 cams, 110 power outlets, or the Bilstein suspension setup. I tried adding those features to a Black Diamond (for example) and it requires the Sasquatch package or High Package which removes the 2.3/manual option.

Badlands seems to be the only trim that lets you get it “fully loaded” with a manual…currently…

There will be more options in the future supposedly.

This exactly! It's not that the manual is incompatible with those options since they are offered together on the Badlands. It could be due to parts availability for the 21MY, or (and of course Ford would never do this ;)) it could just be for profit, forcing people into a much more expensive model.

I have gone through the "Build and Price" for what seems like hundreds of times to end up in the same spot- either a Black Diamond in its base trim package or a loaded Badlands or an Outer Banks with the 12" screen, then maybe a Big Bend loaded up with a Mid Package. I've forgotten how many times I've changed my order (only my dealer knows for sure).
I've come to the conclusion that this is a marketing ploy to get us invested into a type of distress or an "itch" that no scratch can satisfy.
I would prefer to have some additional option packages, like the MT and the larger screens, available across the entire product line, like the engine options and Sasquatch are. Maybe for '22?
Would there still be "an itch"? Absolutely! I'm hoping for a VIN, a build date and a Bronco in my driveway as the ultimate relief! ;)

FWIW, I cannot believe the buzz and hype this product has generated! This has to be the biggest hit Ford has had in decades. Sucks for those of us who want one, now, but probably very good for Ford overall. I just hope that 22MY sees some more flexibility in option combos.

Ford is notorious for deciding what you can buy.

They make it pretty difficult to customize your order in most vehicles not called F150. The Bronco took a huge step in the right direction towards fixing that, but is still a work in progress. Here's hoping ford continues to improve the process and gives us more options and free-will to choose our preferred options.

That’s been my experience. I haven’t tried every trim though.

I’ve been through the Build and Price enough to say this is correct-Badlands is the only trim that you can get the manual along with a package over Mid

Just a guess: they're limiting options on trims to make for an easier first (partial) year of building. So they figured that the more hardcore off-roaders would be likely to get a manual, so kept the package combinations to the hardcore off road trim.

Ford has admitted that they underestimated demand for certain options like higher packages and the manual.

What's more bizarre to me is that you can't get a manual in a 4-door Base? Is that right?

I'm not sure, the Ford website is acting up again.
Ford completely underestimated the demand for the 7spd, but the nonsense with penalizing you for choosing it, is not a smart move.I've heard all the excuses for doing so, its all bs.

Is this what Ford was counting on? "Forcing" people into higher trim levels = more $$$
