Is Magnaflow that much better then Flowmaster or other brands? They roughly 1/3 more.

Definitely better than slowmaster... Dynomax makes a good muffler too. Big fan of their race magnum muffler ( think it's called an ultra flow now.)

LOL - Yeah, it's a good question! I mean, Magnaflow is pricy. My previous trucks had Flowmaster & Borlas. Both were well made, no buggery welds & good fitment. Flowmaster was louder which in our younger times was fine. Borla had lower volume with strong tone - all good too.

Our Bronco has Magnaflow's Overlander, which is their cat-back, high ground clearance exhaust. This cat-back has 3" stainless tubing, straight-line inlet/outlet muffler and 3 'tuning' option attachments. Also, this Overlander completely disappears under the Bronco - Great ground clearance!

I installed with their quietest setup that sounds fine to me - Importantly, wifey hasn't yelled at me either! In routine driving 'round town, it's loud enough that I can hear the engine, but nothing annoying. On more aggressive accelerations, it's very noticeable for the several seconds the turbo boosts ramp up. Heck, think it's just the right sound for some speed's added drama - and Fun!

Sure, it ain't cheap, but you get bigger pipe, perfect fit, sound tuning options - and Made in USA too.

The only negative I can mention is their shipping container's crap. We did receive all the parts, but Fedex delivered a flimsy open box with parts falling out a ripped side in a pile at the end of our driveway..

They are not alone with the crappy packaging or the shipping gorillas. It is a common issue with many companies.

It is the Expedition One with tire carrier. I bought it during Black Friday deal last year at like 20% off. I love it. Would not think about another rear bumper. Just a lot of weight. I put a set of Dobinson HD rear springs to compensate for weight. Works out perfect on my SAS Bilsteins.

Okay, I will defend the Flowmasters, and not only because I have them on my Bronco. My FlowFx's catbacks cost half the amount of a Magnaflow, and I happen to believe that they sound considerably better. With the money I was able to save, I was able to purchase lots of other upgrades for my Bronco. The FlowFx's as a model do not tuck up as much as the Borla's or the Magna's, but I have had them on all the iconic trails in Moab, and they only scrapped once, and that was with 33" tires. Now, only time will tell if they last just as long, but damn, do they sound better.

Yeah, we're now blessed with several excellent Bronco axle & cat-back exhaust accessories - Lots of choices!!

IMO, Ford's stock one-piece cat-back to muffler tubing is good, looks well made and should serve for many years. So, going with an axle back muffler's a good option too.

Here's pics of our MF's Overlander, with 'bout 4k miles & 10 wheeling adventures. Their baffling components seen in front of the muffler are the user tuning options..

I didn’t like the idea of the Overland exhaust dumping underneath against the bumper. Since mine is a 2dr I cut the extra piece for the 4dr installation and clamped it on for a bit of extension. Love the look and the couple inches of clearance loss is meaningless to me.

The sound IMO is quite a bit better with all of the extra baffles not installed. It’s also a lighter, simpler, cleaner installation.

I have the Magnaflow Overland set to the quietest and I am very happy. I bought it for the clearance, but do like the sound. I have the 2.7.

Hey @tommygraham, question for you sir, could you take some pictures of the locking/release mechanism and rear swing arm on your rear bumper. I am narrowing down my choices.

I sure will. I am out of town in wife's car but I will take some pics for you end of week. It does not lock and release. It bolts to a plate mounted on tailgate and hinges around when opened and closed. No need to disconnect with swing gate like you do with a tailgate.

Thank you sir! I really like how it is still attached to the door but is totally supported by the extra hinge mechanism and arm on the new bumper!

Yes, and there are two great parts. Number one, it is built like a tank part, very beefy. Number two, it does not rattle and squeak. Quiet as a mouse. Even over bumps and potholes. Price, weight, and wait are the downsides. I say expensive but not really if you gauge the quality. It took me several weeks to receive after I ordered it, and it is heavy. With all of this, if I had it to do over again I wouldn't think twice. I love it. One of my favorite mods I have put on. I am OCD so I took pains when I installed it. I made sure everything was lined up with all angles correct and level. I can't stand a rattle. Expedition One is awesome.

Probably not. The tire carrier is so heavy duty a normal bumper would not hold it. The hinge is literally like something you would find on a train car or something.
