Loose removable doors and broken axle

Hello,

I am hoping that another Bronco owner can assist with an issue we have with our new Bronco. Once the doors were removed the first time, the bolt has never stayed in place and has to constantly be tightened. Has anyone else had this experience? Any solution? We just get the ratchet out and tighten the bolts, but this happens regularly.

We also had an issue with the 4x4. The Bronco has 3400 miles on it and is no longer able to be driven. The axle needs to be replaced but there are no axles available anywhere in the entire country. The dealership has been asking Ford to provide a part from the Bronco assembly line but that isn't happening. It has been a month with no ETA for the axle. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have to admit, this has not been the best new car experience.

Thanks!

Did your dealer provide any insight into why the axle has to be replaced? Did it break or some other issue?

It is an issue with the motor malfunctioning in the axle and differential. I'm not a car person but they said that if it completely goes out that the car will stop. It is not safe to drive and has been at the dealership for a month. It took a month to get it in to be seen so the issue started well before it has 3400 miles on it.

That sounds dangerous, please keep us posted. Did you at least get a loaner?

What model/motor/options did you get? If This was reported to ford a month ago, it might be why some builds are bieng held up with no explanation. Kinda like the airbag. Sorry for your troubles and hope its resolved quickly.

Yes, they have given us a loaner car and we are grateful for that.

It is actually my daughter's Bronco. Since delivery was so delayed, she took one that had been ordered by another customer that decided he no longer wanted it. None of the paperwork has any of the information about which package was purchased. While it was great to have the first Bronco in the state, it definitely hasn't come without issues.

Hi there, Susan! This definitely doesn’t sound like the experience we want your daughter to be having– If you'd like to, go ahead and send a message to us with the VIN and approximate mileage. I’d be happy to look into this for you. Thanks!

Seems to be a lot of problems like this are showing up around the 3k mark. We are basically beta testers for ford at this point. I am close to 4k miles so I am hoping that means I don't have one of the POS broncos. Hopefully they can do something for you because waiting that long for a part on a new car is garbage. I get there are issues with parts, but that is unacceptable unless they are having a ton of broncos breaking down already

That's the way it works though. If Ford is ordering and receiving parts as needed for manufacturing, and not building a large inventory, they don't stop the manufacturing line to pull a part that's about to go into a new vehicle for a warranty item. It's very common to wait weeks or months for replacement parts. They aren't going to forego building a $55k Badlands because there is a warranty repair waiting. They will schedule it, maybe months down the road.

yea but they also shouldn't have just enough parts to build a bronco. There should always be parts put aside for warranty issues. Guess it's just a shitty time for a new vehicle considering there are still issues from what covid did to the industry

The door bolt thing has happened to a handful of folks I’ve seen on the forums. I haven’t seen any fixes for it or any torque specs listed for those bolts. Hopefully Ford provides you some answers.

The dealer should be able to tell all of the options from the VIN number if you ask them.

It's actually happening with other car companies as well...not being able to get the parts to fix a new model. My friends husband has a brand new Chevy truck and he hit a bear on the way to work, it took three months to get the parts in to fix it. Needless to say I drive my bronco VERY carefully in the mornings on the way to work...I hope your daughter gets her Bronco fixed ASAP!

Three months to get the parts to fix a bear? That's a long time! Sorry, couldn't resist.

You can BEAR-ly find those parts anywhere. Even in the woods, people can't find them... :ROFLMAO:

I worked as an insurance adjuster. It happens with all new vehicles and has for decades. it's part of the game you play when you buy a new model vehicle.
