Hope everyone had a safe and fun new years!! Wheeling this weekend My Bronco loses power when trying to do big climbs. In 1st gear 4low it will not spin the tires it goes to about only 1000 rpms. Ive had this issue in the sand before which was super annoying trying to get out of a bowl when it had the stock 35s. Now im running 40s and it amplified the issue. Is there a some sort of torque safety on the transmission to protect the drive train? It does it no matter what mode i put it in. (outer banks so it does not have rock crawl mode) Any thoughts and has anyone else seen this?

Sorry you're having issues. Just throwing this out there. Could it be a traction control issue? I normally turn off my traction control since any wheel spin will usually result in reduced power.
I'm not certain which goat mode automatically turns it off and which ones do not.

Shot in the dark here but if you have the 2.7 V6 engine this is a known problem with that engine design i.e. stall or limp mode happens on semi steep inclines. Its been awhile but I think it happens because the oil pump doesn't go deep enough so when you are on a steep incline the oil shifts and pump can't supply oil to the engine properly so it shuts off. The 2.3 I4 engine doesn't have this problem on inclines.

Also if you are going anywhere with lots of water. Keep in mind the alternator is mounted lower on the 2.7 engine which if it gets soaked your engine will stall etc. The 2.3 engine also doesn't have this issue bc its alt is mounted higher.

If you have the 2.3 I4 engine then I have no clue what it could be

thank you for responding, ive had the problem with the traction control before so i turn it off also but seemed to turn itself off in mud rut mode. Its a 2.7, if it loses oil pressure it should have a warning or code? that is a little worrysome if it was losing oil pressure. Hope thats not the case.
