Hey all,
I have an OBX on order. Regretfully, I did not opt for the modular bumper.

I do want to install some sort of light bar on the bumper. Something like this: Heretic Light Bar

Has anyone installed a light bar on a plastic bumper yet?

How sturdy would it be? Could i just drill through the plastic, and brace from behind the plastic? Is there enough clearance under the plastic for bolts/bracing?
Are there any companies making mounting kits for the plastic bumper?

Cheers

I have change my mind about bar light for now. Just the fog lights from ZROADZ. An the for ditch light if I need more. But I do like the bar from ZROADZ. I know I'm no help but glad your thinking positively about your bumper.

If you don’t have a VIN yet, you can add the Modular Bumper, to your order…easy peasy.

Hey there,

We do offer a kit for the Bronco Capable Bumper. It utilizes some steel mounting points behind the bumper.

The bracket we use on this kit then holds the light bar at the optimum position right above the bumper and below the grille, ensuring no contact is being made on either.

That black and red rig looks so bad ass, I'm getting some serious A-TEAM vibes. This is surely what MR T. Would be driving today.

Outside the box idea:
https://www.extremeterrain.com/rough-country-bronco-nudge-bar-51100.html

I have an OBX and put this on it has pre drilled holes for 4 lights or the included bracket can be used for a 20" light bar. I too had the plastic bumper but recently switched to the metal capable bumper. I'm not sure how your future modular bumper would be effected, for the capable I had to use a metal grinder and cut for the capable to clear the brackets for this bar but I would have needed to make cuts to clear the lower tow hooks that came on our plastic bumper OBXs anyway.

I recently became the owner (Finally) of a low milage '21 OBX SAS with the standard plastic bumper. I plan on adding this:

It's made for the standard bumper.
