Just got my brand new big bend. Dealership did not install my front plates. Should I be nervous installing them myself? Don’t want to crack or break anything.

You should not attempt it.

Vehicle looks better without front plates.

If you are worried, you can always put it on after you get a “fix it” ticket.

There are a number of brackets out there depending on what bumper you have… you can also take a chance and not put it on, but I would carry it in the car in the event your state troopers decide to stop and chat…

Having it in the car makes no difference.

It’s either a warning or a fix it ticket for the first offense, depending on the state.

Do NOT put it on the dash by the windshield, as that basically creates a projectile that can be highly dangerous in the event of an accident.

If you are thinking of drilling your bumper (assuming that’s your capable bumper in the lead picture) there might be a couple of small dimples in the bumper that tell dealerships where to drill if they install the plate.

a google search “bronco capable bumper license plate placement” will return a number of options…

There is a spot that has dimples and it came with a mounting bracket just didn’t know if it’s smart to drill into on my own. I appreciate all of your feedback!

It’s only required if you get issued a ticket for it.

Congratulations on the new Bronco!
The factory license plate mounts to the painted plastic just under your grill I would look at a plate holder that mounts to you bumper. Drilling into the paint hurts me. At least something like this. Or get a winch and do this.

When you’ve always lived in a state requiring front plates you get to where you don’t notice them…

It IS a better look without, all things being equal…

MT requires a front plate and code says "Attached to the front bumper"
My response is it is attached to the front bumper...of the rack!
