I'm a bit of a Lego nut, so I was excited to discover an Australian gentleman who specializes in providing plans for building Broncos (and Sports!). He will sell you plans (in PDF form) and a CSV of the parts list. I provided the color, trim and accessories and he sent me customized plans. A bit of Lego experience is required (I found it to be a challenging build), but I love the result.

Do his plans have you buy another Lego car kit, or are you buying a lot of pieces à la carte?

He sends you a CSV file of all the parts needed and you can upload the file to Bricklink.com where you can the parts from a network of sellers. I got my parts from three different sellers for a total of about $75.

Edit to add: He sends detailed instructions on how to buy the parts.

I can tell you he charged me $50. I'm pretty sure that's what he charges for all of his sets. My total cost with plans and parts was ~$125.
