Keyfob not detected

Just went to get Chinese food for work, but 20 mins prior, since it was suggested on 6g to check for codes on the OBD2 Scanner to see if there's an issue with the 1st gear cold morning Herky-Jerkiness, did just that and clean.

I park in the parking lot, "Keyfob not detected", I just park after returning and it honks again, only other thing I can think of is I got the front panels in the back upright as I watched the video on how to properly store them:

Glitch, OBD2 Scanner or Panels interfering?

Thanks in Advance

I'm going to go with glitch... At least for me anyways. I always drop my keys into the front cup holder, and every now and again I get a "key not detected" on the dash. Push the button a second time and it starts up. So your guess is as good as mine.

Best is you stop and listen to the radio before leaving to enter a building and it honks to letcha know the keys missing, then looking back at the dash, says restart truck

Is there something magnetic in the Panel bag, or are the cheap pods my friend got me finally messing with the RF?

I've read online relative to another vehicle that if you leave it in the vehicle it drains it more quickly. I don't know why that would be or if it is true...because I leave my key fob in the cupholder all the time and have no issues.

It's not the battery, think it just needs a system update. I reuploaded the data stuff minus vehicle location to see if that helps

I thought there was Repair bulletin on this issue? I think its a software fix, but im not positive. I would talk to the dealer service department. The warranty exists to sort out stuff like this.

Now I'm aware of it, thanks Mal.

Mild winter thus far (knock wood) in ABQ. I'm a little worried about the lack of snow in the mountains- need it for the water in the spring. Otherwise its just waiting for the return of camping weather. The blood has thinned and I wont do camping when its frosting outside unless I have to.

Cloudcroft is a nice town. I like it much more than Ruidoso. Need to plan another trip back down that way.

Gotta go back, this time no ex, no plans to move, and see more than those areas, though I loved overlooking the town at sunset at the little hilltop coffee shop, and the dunes there were awesome too.

Ever drive to Denver? That was fun, seeing how empty the state is in certain parts reminds me of how things are different compared to here. Key issue resolved itself btw, just a glitch in the system apparently, though still bringing it up soon

I go to CO Springs monthly for work. Whole lot of empty on I-25 between say Las Vegas NM and Pueblo CO. Always see a ton of antelopes and whatnot on that drive. If I have time, I like to take the back roads though up through Taos and over through the Spanish Peaks and cut back over to 25 a little South of Pueblo. Beautiful, but better in warmer weather. Lots of snow through those passes. Like Donner Party levels of snow. On the list of locations to thoroughly explore whenever the Bronco gets here.

Wildtrak with MIC and tow. My place in ABQ backs up to a whole load of public land with a bunch of open desert, so it fits my use case best. It will be more that enough for anything I am going to tackle. I was initially worried about the Sta-bar disconnect, but drove a Wildtrak at the Vegas Off-rodeo and didn't miss it. If a manual one becomes available I would probably pull the trigger on that, but I can wait. I think the Top and Tow are what is keeping me waiting, but per the spouse, both are not negotiable. Silver lining- if it backs up enough, maybe I can get that mod top I wanted. :)

4 door and CyberOrange. I grew up back east and the concept of wide open public land that you can just go and screw around on is still very new to me. Seems everyfoot of anywhere east of the mississippi is posted. Not so out here. Dont get me wrong- still plenty of issues here- water, infrastructure, poverty, etc, but if you like being outside and love mountain and desert, its hard to beat living in New Mexico. Add into that great craft beer and green chille and Im not leaving.

I had a demo for a month. On a trip, this occurred with me also while I was at the gas station. A phone call to the manager of the dealership and we had it figured out. Apparently the new FOBs will deactivate if you leave them in the vehicle and the vehicle is locked, i.e. if you go surfing at the beach and leave the FOB inside. When you use the keypad to unlock the vehicle, it should reactivate the key FOB. I simply used my wife's FOB and it did not work. It kept saying FOB not detected.

Solution: In that case, there is a small indentation at the bottom of the center console near the front. If you place it in it or just hold it real close, it will allow you to start up the vehicle and reset the FOB. It worked like a charm for us.
