Can I remove the key pad on the door and put it on the back side of the fuel door.

I did this exact thing. I parked the car in the sun for a few hours and then removed the bezel and pulled on it and it snapped off with no residue.

I am going to be moving mine. Until this thread I regretted ever getting it but thanks for the solid info!

It fit's perfect on the gas door, very easy job. I'd recommend using a good adhesive like 3M that's impervious to moisture and chemicals...

I moved mine inside the fuel door. The other location I was considering was just on the back door but I didn't want to see it really so I chose other option. To remove it I just let it sit outside for 15-20 min in the sun and it came clean off. The other option is to get a hair dryer and put by it for 30 seconds or so.

I relocated mine from its package, to the driver door right by my door handle so I can use it.! Just like the Lincolns, Mercurys, Expeditions, Explorers, F-150s, E350s, etc. we've owned since 1986.! Ford has done a remarkable job getting the Bronco in the hands of "First Time" Ford owners and the "keypad on the door thing" is proving it.!! 😂

To me the keypad is a dated feature on the door itself. With the ability now of the key fob being in your pocket and unlocking the door with grabbing the handle. I have never used the keypad in the 6 months I owned the bronco because of the stated feature. When the doors are off that pad is useless. If I don't have my key on me and need something in the back the pad being located elsewhere makes more sense to unlock the back door.

I don't use the keypad much at all, but it has come in very handy the few times I have not had keys in my pocket. Even with the top-off you still need it if you need to open a door when the rig is locked.

Here is my Bronco key fob next to my old cell phone.!! I ain’t carrying this thing in my pocket. Set off the emergency alarm twice while in a restaurant. 😳

It definitely seems that people either love it or don’t see the point without without much in between.

Personally I love it. My keys just live in the center console (as long as the doors and top are on). Use the keypad to lock/unlock the door; no reason to carry around that giant f’ing fob + house keys in my pocket.

Usually I have my phone with me, but the lock/unlock feature on the Ford app takes wildly inconsistent times to actually perform the requested action. The keypad is generally instantaneous, but on occasion, it will take a 2 Mississippi.

I hope Ford keeps it as an option well into the future!

I carry the fob and a key ring with about 12 keys on a belt clip. Like I'm a school janitor! But I admit it's cumbersome when I'm wearing draw-string pants or something without a belt.

I too have set the alarm off a few times with it in my pocket. I was planning on ordering the keypad using points but not sure what dealership will charge to program it. 🐎

Buy it online, Ford Accessories, and select the install option. Dealer has to honor that price. Keypad is $120.00 and install price is $24.00.

I love my key pad. Locking from the app works great and is fast. Unlocking from the app sometimes takes several minutes, and it is just easier to reach up and press the numbers.

I got my keypad online with FordPass points, along with a couple other things. Floor mats or whatever.

FordPass wouldn't let me get some things w/install and some things w/o install in the same order so, whatever.....

Took my keypad along to my local Ford Dealer. Asked "How much to install this?" Service writer, with a straight face looks at me and says, "$250.00 because, we need to make sure everything 'lines up right', it's gonna take some time"

Anyone know if I can enable this thing with ForScan? At least then, I'd have a tool instead of just a cigarette and a cab ride home.

Look under the dash, find the fuse panel, there is a door lock code card attached there on all Broncos. Try that code with your keypad.
