Just saw a post over on B6G from my dealer (Chapman) in an ongoing thread they have over there. They still currently have approximately 360 unscheduled orders. I did know this already from talking to the GM a while ago. But here's the kicker. They have just been told by Ford that they will be receiving roughly 90 allocations for MY2023. So that is potentially a 4 year wait at best for some. I'm sure the other below invoice dealers will be suffering the same fate. As well as order holders at smaller dealers that would not normally get a high number of allocations to start with. Looks like the changes to the dealer allocation system aren't really going to help much at all.

They can take their allocation system and shove it.

Sounds about right. We all took a calculated risk on where we ordered from. I ordered at a small dealership with a relatively high volume. I was number 94 out of 130 or so orders. I think they have around 20 or so rolling over to MY23. I don’t know how many times I have said it, things are bad and won’t be getting better any time soon.

And now you see why I switched to a soft top. When I first talked to Tom (Chapman), I was around #10 in line. By the time everyone else switched over I was pushed somewhere around #84 in line. Previewed early for 2 weeks (June 2021 I believe it was), then dropped off. Switched to soft top in August 2021 and got picked for September (turned to October) build. But as you noted above, that's the price consumer pays for a good deal. You would think with the Bronco being out for a full year now, they'd ditch the allocation system and build based on reservation date.

It seems the order allocation system is as reliable and outdated as the electoral college. Oh well. A model year 2026 Bronco might have some cool color choices and packages... :geek:

Yeah it's a strange situation. I see both sides.

From a customer's perspective, the allocation system truly is a pain and something that the customers should haven't to worry about. The fact that we are even talking about it is a real bad sign for Ford.

From a dealer's perspective, it would be completely unfair if you have been delivering solid sales numbers for Ford for years, and all of a sudden a relatively small dealer in Iowa gobbles up all of the available hot new vehicle supply simply because they offered extremely aggressive pricing to try to rocket ship their way through the ranks on the back of the Bronco.

I'm not sure that scrapping the allocations is a great idea either - are you suggesting that Ford should just ship all of its production to Chapman and Granger? Just because they make promises that they can't keep and flood the order banks with many times more vehicles than they typically sell, doesn't mean that the rest of the country and Canada should just get bent. I agree that early reservation holders should be getting more priority than they currently are, but on the other hand, there are a lot of dealers that were caught putting in reservations for fictitious people. The bottom line is that there are more people that want to buy this vehicle in a given month than Ford can possibly produce.

This is a difficult one because I see both sides to the argument. I think the most fair thing would have been to do what Ford originally said and go off of timestamp of reservation. I do see why they didn't want 100% of broncos going to Iowa because it screws the other dealers but then again I see that it's also capitalism working because the best price will get the most sales. Either way it's sad that first week reservation holders from 2020 are still out there stuck with no bronco. Ford needs to prioritize getting the remaining reservation holders their bronco before ever giving the dealers any stock

I just picked up my Badlands, after a 2-year wait.
My salesman had some words about Grainger, but most were reserved for the folks who placed an order through them.
It’s OK to want to save some money, but they were clearly delusional if they thought that they were going to save $1K and get their Bronco fast.

I think the real issue is that the vast majority of customers had no idea that allocation was even a factor when we placed our order for a Bronco.

I don't have an issue with the allocation system, and I don't have an issue with Granger (and other dealers) trying to grow their businesses by offering killer deals on hot new vehicles. But since Ford nor the dealers disclosed the allocation system, many of us (unknowingly) made a bad decision about who we ordered from.

Jesus, my Bronco Nation tees and jackets are going to be threadbare before I take delivery of my own Bronco. Who knows how many avatars I’ll go through by then!

I haven’t seen BUCK MAYBE?, yet.
I don’t wear my BN stuff until I get the Bronco. I once wore the hat and was drinking from my Bronco Yeti and a friend asked what’s with ALL the Bronco stuff. I felt like Joey with all the Porsche gear and no Porsche

That’s too damn funny. A coworker made the same reference although I never watched that show. I was more of a Seinfeld fan. I’m wearing a BN shirt now (it’s casual Friday at work) and I feel like taking it off. However, I wouldn’t do that to my coworkers because I like them too much. LOL

I feel a bit ridiculous for promoting this community because I’m starting to feel like a bystander. It may be time to put the swag in cold storage until (if) my Bronco is delivered.

My original order was a hard top with tow. I switched to a soft top no tow for a while. When I realized I still had a good long wait I decided to go for broke and put the hard top and tow back on and also add Sasquatch since I was saving so much already. Now with the price hikes and no guarantee of price protection I was considering dropping Sas. My build went up $2000 on my recent updated DORA. But at this point I'd probably be two or more years out and I'm sure price protection won't be a thing by then. So dropping the Sasquatch package won't make a difference anyway. I'll probably hit 3 or 4 more price increases by then. They'll price me into a Base. LOL
