Ionizer

Has anyone decided on a best (powerful) ionizer to remove odors from your bronco? I’m not talking about the ones that plug into a cigarette lighter. I wonder if the nice ones that are 110v will run on the bronco’s 110v outlet.
Thanks in advance.

Only thing I’ve ever seen really work for smells is an Ozone machine. Some dealers have these to get rid of cigarette odor from trade in vehicles. Works like magic, but pretty dangerous if you don’t know what you’re using. If the smell is only mild, try one of those digger cans you can buy at an autozone or something. Ozium works decently for not too bad of smells

I know almost nothing about how electricity works. So would one of the ozone units run on the Bronco 110v outlet? You know…volts, watts, amps etc. I wouldn’t think something like an ozone generator would draw a lot of power, but I could be horribly mistaken.

Yeah, ozone machines are pretty hefty and draw a lot of power. Also expensive as heck. It’d be something you take to a dealer or detailer that ones one, but will kill the odors after one appointment. It essentially sucks all the oxygen out of the vehicle and kills all the bacteria that cause odors, so will make the car odorless. If you’re looking for a solution to use over and over, I’d go with an Ozium fogger can vs the stuff you plug in. Those are usually pretty gimmicky and don’t do much to be honest. I bought a truck years ago that someone had smoked in. Got the ozone machine done and smelled brand new. Pretty amazing to be honest.

A small one (the size you'd need to clear out a Bronco) would run off the Bronco inverter power, but only with the engine running. Since those ozone machines typically take overnight to do their thing, an extension cord would probably be cheaper than the fuel bill for running the Bronco engine for 12 hours. The cheapest option yet would be to stop doing weird smelling activities in your Bronco.

Ozium is the champ. At least back in the day!

Yeah. Decades ago I managed a cigar store. You can imagine what it smelled like at the end of the day. When we left for the day we turned on a very powerful ozone generator to run for four hours. When I got there in the mornings the store smelled fresh as could be.
I want something to “de-odorize” my Bronco on a regular basis, and I don’t mind paying for a good unit. I guess the purpose of my post is to determine a high quality ozone generator that can run on the Bronco’s power- either the 110v outlet or the 12v system.

Well…I’m on the road a good bit, and I’m going to have an occasional cigar while driving. You will note that I have not said anything about looking for a cheap option. I want something with quality that’s relatively easy to use, and I’m willing to pay whatever that costs. I’m hoping to find a member here who’s run this out to a solution.

Makes sense now. Wasn’t sure what odors you were trying to get rid of. In that case, I found this, but obviously have no personal experience:

I don't put smelly stuff in my cars, thats what pick ups are for.
But you can use MOSO bags to absorb odors. They are cheap and won't drain your battery. Can be reactivated.Work 24/7.

Interesting… didn’t know half of this stuff existed.

I’m more of a “roll the window down” type of person. If it gets real bad I’ll just give my interior a good shampooing—sometimes I’ll throw some baking soda on the carpets ahead of time.

By the way… if anyone develops a strong hatred for me and wants to know a sure-fire way to ensure I will never ride in your vehicle… stick one of those Black Ice tree things in your car. As far as I am concerned that stuff was developed in the depths of hell using satin’s dogs’ farts.

With a proper ozone generator operating in a room, building or vehicle there better not be any people or animals there. Ozone is harmful to living things.

It’s also really hard on plastics, so it might be harmful to your Bronco’s interior...

Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.
