In Real Life: First Look At 'Black Onyx' FE Interior

No renderings here! It’s the first look at the First Edition all-black interior in real life.

On Friday, April 16, Ford broke the news that the Black Onyx interior was no longer a late availability option for the FE and could be added to orders immediately.

Now, Bronco Nation has received these IRL images, and we have even more in the forums. I like the option, and I don’t think it reads as dark in actuality than it does in the renderings.

What do you think? Now that you’ve seen it past a concept, are you going with the Black Onyx interior or the Navy Pier?

Looks great!

I apologize because I really don’t want to be “that guy” but, what’s up with the fit/finish on the rear seat bottom cushions? Passenger side front right and driver side rear left each have some serious “wrinkles” in each respective corner.

Hey, it's a fair critique! From what everyone in the general public keeps saying, that will change once we move out of these pre-production models. Here's to hoping!

Glad to see the molle panels on the back seat as well. The lighter black looks better and will require less "dusting" than the dark black rendered. Glad I ordered the black in the first place.

Great to see it in production. It's hard to tell from the pic's, but is the center part of the dash still that silver moltin lava color they showed on the Navy Pier interior.
Looks like they went with Black insert from the Wildtrak.
I was hoping for the silver lava color that they showed us in the Black interior renderings. The Silver added a nice contrast to the black dash, IMO.

I love Black Onyx and so happy this option was provided. I really love the Bronco bolts on the front seat back molle panels. Customizing mine is going to be so much fun! Can't wait.

It looks like the interior badge has changed. It has red lettering now? Wonder if the stamping is nicer than the previous preproduction ones we have seen before?

Does only the four-door get the Molles Panels on the back of the front seats? I didn't see them on the two-door with the navy FE they had a while back. I was excited to get them, so I hope they do come with the two-door!

Pre-production . I worked at a tier 1 supplier for Mercedes and Jeep back in 2011 that supplied the dash , center consoles , seats etc . They would constantly ship out stuff that wasn't quite right up until the last week before production . We would also constantly get parts back that they rejected long into the production run . Ford will sort things out . It's not like you see that in the other vehicles right ?
