I REALLY shouldn’t have looked at the Ford Bronco IG

Ugh. Reading thousands of comments about people waiting for their vehicle for over a year , brand new broncos breaking immediately - even engines under 2k, dealerships not selling ordered cars etc. is REALLY bumming me out. All while Ford is posting people getting theirs who just ordered a few months ago. My Bronco was ordered as a surprise for me by my husband and now I’m terrified I will wait 100 yrs then have it break down immediately. We’ve even been looking for one off the lot , but the markups are INSANE. My last 3 cars have been Fords and great- just minor design flaws so I don’t understand why this is such a nightmare.
I wish we would have known to order from a dealership with more allocations - instead of the small one down the road from our ranch. I’m betting it will be a coons age before I see it.

I totally agree right now it's a mess. With your concerns it's better probably to wait a couple years. Let the bugs iron out, supplies to catch up dealers to lower the prices. I would never pay over msrp and didn't for mine. I reserved September of 2020, had to drop the MIC to get it built. I plan on ordering another to get MIC. I love it but I tell people not to rush it unlike what I did.

First off Welcome to the Nation @Jackniferuby from a fellow Texas Rancher.
All is not as bad as it seems the number of major issues with the new Bronco is relatively small and they have fixed the issues and are repairing the faulty broncos now. For a new model these are fairly common instances. As far as wait times those are anyones guess but I can say it seems like there are less and less July 2020 reservation holders out there still waiting on a build date. I happen to be a July 2020 reservation holder that is still waiting. This is a great place to pass the time and one day we will look back on all this and tell great stories. As Ford says hang in there.

Keep in mind one of the unspoken rules of the internet: Those who are happy about a product probably are not spending time on the internet talking about it.

Those who have a Bronco and love it probably aren't spending much time talking about it online. If they are talking about it online, it definitely will not be one of the more popular posts simply because people naturally gravitate to the posts that are all about drama and less about "Oh yeah, this vehicle is great!" (Case-in-point... the number 1 post on Bronco6G right now is about a guy who drove his Bronco out onto a sandbar and tried to turn it into a submarine.)

That said, yes... it's been kind of a mess. Supply chains are a disaster right now. Not just a Bronco issue, but it just so happens the Bronco is an brand new, well-reviewed, and extremely desired product that just happened to launch a few months after supply chains started binding up.

Jacob1972 and RagnarKon, I'm with you fellers. The whole world sucks right now, dreaming about the Bronco on the way was fun.
Now that it's here, life is just a little bit better.
It is definitely worth the wait, don't let anyone keep you from your dream.

I feel your pain. Reserved 7/20/20, still have no idea when it's going to be built. This will be my 8th Ford - and I can confidently say I'll never buy another one after this experience. Ford has proven over and over again that we are expendable and don't matter to them. They'd rather get some non-car enthusiast who stumbles onto the lot and says "ooooh, that's cool looking", not knowing the difference between an Outer Banks and a WildTrack, and willing to pay $20k markup, never taking it off-road. That is who they want. Not us.

It was nice of them to tease us by letting us drive one for a few hours at Off Rodeo.I feel like they should let us do it again, for free of course since we had to reorder a MY22.

Several things here....

1. Let your dealer know you may be interested in a bronco that someone walks away from.
2. If you don't "need" the bronco now, the wait isn't that bad.
3. FB groups and internet forums that deal with certain vehicles specifically are 90% complaints, 8% agree/disagree responses and 2% "this vehicle is awesome" responses. It's been like that since the early 2000's.
4. The entire bronco system is random and inconsistent, every bronco owner's story is different, no two are alike. From reservations, to orders, to order changes, to wait time to scheduling, wait time from scheduling to actually getting an window sticker, wait time to get a built email, wait time to get shipped, wait time once shipped, wait time once it arrives (if by rail) before it leaves the rail yard and arrives at the dealer, wait time after it arrives at the dealer before the dealer contacts you(if at all lol), dealer shenanigans or none once you arrive at the dealer. It's all been different for every single buyer.

Throw in folks who buy off the lot, folks who ordered months after you and drive home in their bronco 4 months later, it's all the perfect storm to absolutely wear a person out if they're not patient and realize that nobody really has the answers when it comes to time lines to actual bronco ownership once it's ordered.

Keep in mind there are people who are trying to make a living selling “performance” parts to fix perceived issues with the Bronco. Part of their marketing strategy is to spam social media with fear, uncertainty, and doubt to convince you to buy parts you don’t need. So a lot of the negative noise you hear is from a small few who are leveraging the internet echo chamber to increase profits.

Yes, the allocations are a bummer. It seems Ford meant well but, when vehicle builds are being passed up because of parts shortage, on top of allocations, it creates a perfect storm for many. My order is a 2 Door BLACK DIAMOND Sasquach and I work for the delaership that I ordered from. Even so, I was skipped for a 4 Door ordered after mine on our last allocation. Those like me in the business, has to deal with this as well. I beleive when you get your it will be worth it though.

Hi! Welcome to the nation!

I reserved my Bronco Badlands on July 23, 2020.
Badlands, HardTop, High Package, Tow, Roof Rack, Upgraded Wheels, Manual Transmission in Cyber Orange.

Then during the waiting period, and understanding commodity restraints I made no less than 8 changes to my order.

Changed the color to Cactus Grey, changed from Manual to Auto, removed the Tow Package, Changed to a Soft Top. And a lot of other changes and then changing back after January 2021 when order banks opened.

I got my Bronco in November of 2021, 470 days after I reserved it. 10 months after officially “ordering” it.

I got a Cactus Grey Badlands 2.3/Auto, Soft top with High Package.

I have just about 14,000 miles on it. Had one TSB, the air bag/seat belt wiring, simple fix.

I LOVE my Bronco, have made several interior modifications, @badlandsoverland on YT.

There are people still waiting that are unwilling to compromise or make a concession. Dealers who may not have done right by customers, dealers without allocation or those who 99’d orders.

I understand there is a lot of frustration out there, I wanted what I wanted, but then I figured whatever. I can add a tow package, I can wait for a roof rack (thanks Gobi), I can get a hard top aftermarket.

You will see 95% of the crap, 5% of the good on the internet. There is a wait, but you can see what some of the constraints are, and if you can live without them, you will likely get it built faster.

Good luck!

hang in there. Day res holder here. So, I've been thorough all the ups and downs.

I ordered from a small dealership in WV. It paid off. After waiting forever, I got impatient and put in a second order with none of the deadly sins. It was scheduled less than 2 weeks after my order. Shortly after that, my original order was changed to a raptor. It is also scheduled for production. So, soon enough, I will be enjoying both Broncos.

I am seeing the pace of production emails picking up significantly recently. So, that's good.

It comes down to 2 big things:

1. Where are you with respect to your dealership's allocation?
2. How many deadly sins do you have?

If you are next up in allocation and no deadly sins, you'll be driving a Bronco in a few months.

I waited 483 days, got my Bronco, put 10K miles on it, and I have not had one issue. Knock on wood. Yeah, the Bronco has been a mess, but I thoroughly love everything about my Bronco. I agree with @RagnarKon. I don't spend much time on these forums other than to get advice on what mods I should add.

I am a Texan living in Minnesota. Was a first 24 hour reservation and just picked mine up about a month ago. I agree whoever said order what you want and don't compromise. That is what I did and glad that I did it that way. Kept the MIC, the 2.7, tow, lux, sasquatch (it is a wildtrak) and wouldn't want it any other way. Granted, its my vehicle so no offense to anyone that would want it a different way. Hang tight, it is worth it.

I'm a first hour reservation, switched from the Modular top to a soft top, had every constraint from Lux to Hitch.
Got it in September and couldn't be happier.
