How water proof is the bronco dash electronics?

How waterproof, rainproff, or rain resistant is the gadgetry INSIDE the bronco? If I have the doors and top off, do I need to be weather critical on my ride? Can it take a toad-choker rain on the dash? Do I need to keep a plastic drop cloth in my roadside emergency kit for those times I am enjoying the open air drive?
The steering wheel controls and the dash traction control panel has rubberized controls, but what about the rest of the dash items?

It's all "weather resistant" but not "weather proof"... so a light sprinkle/rain shouldn't harm anything. A heavy rain, on the other hand, probably should stick the top on—although I would imagine you wouldn't want to drive down the road in a heavy rain anyway.

I have a 4-door on order which has the capability to store the doors in the rear of the vehicle. So if I leave the house on a questionable weather day, I'll just be sure to pack the doors in the rear of the vehicle. If I hit rain, no biggie, just pop the doors back on and flip the roof closed.

Doesn't really help you 2-door owners though.

electronics and water do not mix....... ever

You can coat the electronics in substances that repel water ...... but that increases the amount of heat the electronics generate.

excess heat will cause the electrical components to fail quicker.

it is a true give and take.

you want air flow to keep everything cool but wherever there is air flow there can also be water intrusion.

There’s a YouTube video of a few idiots driving one through a car wash with the doors off. The electronics survived that.

No really though. Folks won't necessarily drive in the rain, but sometimes it rains while it's parked without you knowing it.

Cboys TV YouTube channel took their bronco through the car wash with the doors off. Overall it did well but they did mention that the touch screen was tripping out because of the water on the screen but overall I don't think they had any deep issues.

I guess I should have read up but as this was already stated but yeah it actually held up.
