How to slightly adjust swing gate?

My swing gate is slightly off when closing. The latch and hammer aren't syncing properly. Is it as simple as loosing torx screws on hammer brackets and slightly adjusting? Or do I have to deal with loosening the torx bolts on swing gate hinges? Any advice is appreciated.

If the panel gaps are consistent around the perimeter of the tailgate then the actual hinge does not need to be adjusted - just the closing mechanism/latch combo.

Found that my tailgate latch needed a small adjustment. Tailgate needed to close a bit further as i could jiggle it in and out by pulling on the handle. Body panel seams are tighter. Better seal against the rear window was another benefit.

Just mark your starting position and loosen the bolts as shown in diagram. No need to remove them. Slide latch and stop a little to find the desired position. Visually check position with door almost closed. Remember to readjust the screw in rubber bumper stop if needed. Fully tighten 18-22 ft lbs.

The door stop bolt is torx plus, the other four are just torx.
