Removed Bronco's snow tires & installed our 5 new Method wheels. Also, weighed the spare Sasquatch wheel to better understand these 'beauty ringed' wheels' weight vs the Method wheels.

Here're the OEM wheels we have our Nokian LT3 snow tires mounted:

Comes in at 34.7lbs:

Method wheel at 28.2lbs or 6.5lbs lighter per wheel = 26lbs unsprung weight reduction:

Thanks, guess they look a lot like the OEMs, but Method’s ‘Bead Grip’ design really works - holding bead while aired down. I’ve never enjoyed changing tire on a rocky off-road trail..

Those mods look great… and the weight reduction should have some impact, too.

Thanks, we've added couple hundred lbs in skids, so gotta watch our weight. Rock rails are next up. They're 120lb and don't know yet what the weight of OEM side steps that're coming off.

They look great! It seems you're keeping the OEM for your spare? I'm kind of OCD on these things. I'd replace all five. I replaced my Autozone wheel locks with advancedlocks.com. Kind of pricey, but they seem very theft resistant. Look into them. Each one is unique, and the cylindrical design resists all sorts of wrenches and sockets.

Changing tires on the trail? Phshaw! I've changed tires at the top end of the MaBell Trail in Northampton, MA, Gold Hill, (western) UT, and Trout Creek, (very western) UT. Trout Creek is about 75 miles from services. At my age, lifting 87 pounds is a bit of a heft for this old coot, so I'm back at the fitness room. I've already bought my replacements: K02s, 10 pounds heavier!

I have found that if you cut back the number of weekly apple fritters in your diet you can greatly reduce the wheel weight. This is a fact!!

And reduce the distance from my belly to the wheel….steering wheel that is!

That's a terrible idea, when do we start?

In general, reducing the amount of fun you have will do the trick! Exercise, no fun! Eating right, no fun! quit drinking, no fun!

Thanks for the locker tip, will check 'em out. You're right, we did the spare too.

At 70+ guess I'm an old coot too. Gotta admit, am a little sore today after torquing 24 lugs to 100ftlbs and storing 400lbs of snow tires in our ceiling tire storage rack.

If you would have turned your rack upside down then it would be very easy to put the tires on the top shelf!!

Thanks.
They are actually the Baja Boss All Terrains. And I love them. I've had them in all conditions except deep mud (which I avoid like herpes) and they've done great.
They've seen high speeds on gravel. I had no problems in a foot of snow. They've rubbed up against rocks and roots plenty of times, and no punctures. They are pretty quiet on the highway. They have roughly 10 k miles on them with very little wear. I rotate them every 4k miles or so.

Yah your wheels are 11 pounds lighter but your tires are 18 pounds heavier. They may be a good tire for what you need but there certainly isn’t any unsprung, static or rotational weight benefits to your package.

I do like your color scheme. Looks great.

If you leave the tire off, you can reduce the weight a lot.

I wonder if a Gator Grip could defeat them? They have a larger size which might just work.

It's said that there is no absolutely perfect defense system. As a retired LE, I've learned that the three factors to consider are: time (needed to achieve the break), visibility, and complexity. Every increase of those factors works to your advantage, and against the thief's, encouraging the thief to abandon you as a target and move on.
So yes, TD, that might defeat the AdvancedLock. But how many crooks carry that? Most are carrying screwdrivers, prybars, vicegrips, etc. A more ambitious crook might have a set of AutoZone keys. My bet is that he won't have anything to work these.

Helpful tip: In most jurisdictions, common tools can be termed "burglarious implements," depending upon the context. Remember that if you find somebody messing with your truck or property in a suspicious manner. Call the cops, and (depending upon your jurisdiction) hopefully they have the manpower to respond in time.
