But you can't get spray foam in cool patterns like these.

Nice fix and all but if your paying 50+ grand for a brand new vehicle, one would think that issues like this might arise down the road. (pun intended). Brings up the point again, how much testing did they really do on these vehicles. Were issues like this just acceptable. Again with the hard top.

Is this still an issue with the 22’s?

Electrical tape, one time around the pin(peg) works. Easy fix.

Nothing noted on my 2 door. I do have a little wind noise on driverside A post, but not rattling.

For the discussion in general...this will only get worse over time...the camlock hasps will get loose, the gasketing will compress....welcome to removable tops in the world of 4x4.

I have roof rails on mine, and I have no noise. going on a month and a half in the northeast. I wonder if there's compression from the rails keeping things tight.

Or perhaps a short length of heat shrink tubing ?

Might work! I just wrapped the tape. Immediate fix. Has never popped again and I have 7800k miles on the odometer.

Here are the 3 points where the pins go in. The wider one is for the metal pin the other two are for the plastic pins. The popping noise seems to come from the outside rear mount on either or both sides.

I could see that, but if the tops were meant to have some “flex” movement at those points, I think the shrink tubing might prevent the flex and could cause stress somewhere else on the panel. Just my two cents.

Oooo not a bad idea, good video.

If I get noise I'm going to leave it. Need to get that nostalgic throwback to my 1989 Bronco with a roof that sounded like a herd of dying mice when I went off-roading.

I do not, but a friend of mine has the All Terrain Nation YouTube channel and he does regular content on his 21 Badlands with a soft top. I think that might be on his list of future videos. https://www.youtube.com/c/AllTerrainNation
