Watched this video today of a stock first edition bronco running the Pritchett Canyon trail at Moab. A trail that is generally the domain of rear steer buggies. It was really cool seeing a Bronco doing those obstacles.
This all goes to show:
  • A bronco with front and rear lockers and the RIGHT TIRES is very capable.
  • You don't have to break a tie rod when rock crawling with stock-sized suspension and tires.

There are at least 2 other threads here with that video posted.

They got to get that one out on the trail for its last trail ride in fine style. Now it is off to the crusher.

When you are driving something that you don't care about and don't have to drive home, you can do a lot.

If the only think keeping the bronco from doing that is your fear of damaging it that doesn't remove the capability of the stock rig. They knew the bronco was wide so they pulled the body panels off, which is easy to do. if they would have pulled the taillights they wouldn't have had any damage.
For comparison, some Jeeps are running that course, and they think it'll take them 6 hours. The bronco did it in under 3.

I saw that video. That Bronco has custom fenders, the flares are part of the flares. And the line it takes is so different than what my husband had to take in his CJ7, which is heavily modified and on 40s. Loren Healy keeps throwing videos of this Bronco and a couple of others from the same shop. Making me feel very confident on taking mine out.

Stock Broncos can go a lot of places I’ve been very happy with mine. Was out in Moab last month with my stock Badlands Sasquatch and was able to run a bunch of trails. Didn’t run this one , but wish I did.

We are planning on Moab in September - I think that there is something on the event schedule for Labor Day. I think we will be there a day early and hope to run something. I'm good with letting my husband do the hard stuff 1st. Helps give me some confidence. LOL!
I don't think we will do Pritchett Canyon or Behind the Rocks - which there is a video of this Bronco going down high-dive.

This Bronco on stock K02s/suspension was able to pull a Lifted ZJ on Muds out while also avoiding getting stuck

did I mention it went through Quad Trails? Only real damage

Yeah, from what they showed of Pritchett Canyon, I wouldn't do it with a bronco unless you pull all the body panels and the taillights. The route is narrow with rocks on both sides. I bet some wheel offsets could make it harder too.

The hardest thing about wheeling the new bronco stock is getting use to all the metal scraping you feel and hear on the underside. If you have good skid plates nothing to worry about. Its just something you have to get use to. After Moab, I lifted my a few inches before doing the Rubicon. It did help a little with getting the underside off the rocks.
