How are you extreme-cold weather owners holding up?

It looks like some parts of the US will be getting down to -35 tonight, with wind chill as low as -50 in some areas. How are all of your Broncos holding up in this weather? Has your hard top developed any cracks? Has your soft top been able to keep your vehicle warm? Interested to hear some extreme cold weather reports.

It was -21 in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan this morning. Bronco started right up, no problems with the (hard) top, the car warmed up quickly.

Only issue is that the stock Sasquatch tires are slippery in snow, I have a set of Nokian Hakkapelitta LT3 tires on order.

That will be such a great upgrade! Did you get pizza cutters?

Here in northern Minnesota it has been a COLD week! Tuesday was -28, Wednesday was -28, Thursday was -26, and today was -22 on my way to work in the morning. The Bronco has been performing great in these conditions! It starts right up -- the remote start is immediate, which is nice. It's toasty warm inside, and the hard top hasn't had any issues at all.

It's not bad in the soft top either. Here in Illinois we got down to zero outside, but it was still toasty and warm inside, after 5 minutes or so.

Not negative here in North Texas but we just went through the week of ice, my car gets hot, too hot everyone was pulling off jackets and sweaters. It heats up real quick. I have the soft top.

We've had no problems here in MN staying warm with the soft top. We have the Lux package, so the heating steering wheel gets used this time of year. It was -17 this morning with a high of 2º F today, but it looks like our sub-zero weather is over—high temps in the 30's and maybe 40 by Thursday. March can't come soon enough.

Living at 6700 feet and six months of winter I find the stock sas tires at 28 psi cold have great traction.. Plus the ride is so much better.

Solid performance in the cold so far, the only thing i've noticed with the mic top so far is when we have freezing rain, then it gets super cold... there is a lot of creaking while driving. I'm guessing there is some freezing between the roof panel gaskets which takes some time to thaw out. It does subside, and it seems to only happen at lower speeds, at higher speeds it goes away and returns when slowing down again. Same as stated above, the four cylinder starts up without issue. I'm really impressed how quick the engine comes up to temperature, and how the cabin warms up. Much better than my Cherokee Trailhawk!

New Englander here. We don't get Dakotas/Minnesota cold, but we definitely get cold.

Bronco could be better.

My manual transmission makes a scratching/grinding sound when the transmission is cold. Luckily I'm not alone... there are lots of other people with the issue. The bad news is we haven't really figured out what's happening yet, and it seems Ford is still working on a solution. At the moment Ford seems to think it is related to the synchros, but there have been reports of people who have had their synchros replaced that still have the issue. To be honest, we don't even know if damage is occurring. You would think a scratching/grinding noise would be associated with damage, but there have been a few people who have had their dealers open the transmission and no damage was found.

The good news is most of us are still driving our Broncos, and at other than a concerning noise in the transmission it has been rock-solid. Zero issues with the hard top or staying warm in the Bronco, so can't complain to much.

The noise, for those who are curious...

I feel like steering gets a little stiff when temps dip below the teens. I have one rear passenger window that slips out of the weather stripping on door open and close. I have to close the door and then roll the window up and down. Everything else is fine.

Fist couple turns out of my driveway are a bit stiff as well in that temp range....and felt about the same a -30 as well.

My ignorant self has never heard of Nokian, so I searched and found a video. So I guess they've harnessed the power of canine paws. ... or something.

I laughed, I cried... bust mostly cried. I'm gonna get me some of these!!
