Horrible and great week all in one

I'm mostly behind the scenes here just reading but damn if this week has been horrible and great all at once.

In central TX....hail storm. Our 22 Wildtrak took damage and we lost two other cars. That's the horrible part. Looks like the Wildtrak will get repaired...which will take a while I'm sure. I went into panic mode to find something so we will have one vehicle to drive. Wife didn't seem too interested which was pissing me off. Told her I was just going to go buy something today.

Here's the great part. She's sat me down and told me the Bronco Raptor she ordered in Feb as a surprise for me would deliver next month...delayed due to the strike. So that's why she wasn't worrying. So now we're gonna have a 22 Wildtrak and a 23 Raptor!

I'm sorry for the rough week, and I hope your Wildtrak repairs go as smoothly as possible. What an awesome surprise from your wife! Best wishes it gets to Texas quickly once it ships. What color did she go with for you?

It's built complete now. ETA is Oct 22...was Oct 2 but the strike held up the shipping. Super excited!

WOW - Great Wifey move - Congrats!!

Understand your pain! We doing our 2nd hail damage repair on our house now. Just finished the siding & paint DIY, the roofers here are booked into next year. Our Bronco and 2nd vehicle were in the garage, but our sons cars were outside. Both were 're-skinned' after disputing insurance co's initial totaling. Those repairs took couple months - When completed they looked great!

FYI, we did have problems with stereo speakers though. We discovered after these repairs several speakers didn't work. Those repairs required a bunch of metal body grinder work, and the speakers' magnetics & frames were covered with metal shavings & dust - Completely beyond repair!

Your WildTrak's speakers are probably inclosed and better protected than our sons'. Suggest adding more protection though, if there's a lot of grinding involved in your repair. Hope those Bronco body parts are available .. the current labor strikes aren't helpful..

Cheers

@KnuckleBones sorry for the damage. Was that the Storms that rolled through Wednesday? We missed out on the rain altogether and we really could use some rain. I think I might be a little farther south and west Central Texas. But A Raptor is a really nice surprise, you will love that. And lucky they will fix the Wildtrak.

Round Rock TX. Our neighborhood got hit the absolute hardest. That's not remotely as bad as our other cars. Threw rugs and cover on the Bronco as soon as we heard it start. Other two cars were totaled. Here's our poor little mazda.

Wow. That is awful! Glad you all were safe. Was anyone injured during the storm? If it did that kind of damage to houses and cars just imagine what it would do to a human!

Ouch that is rough. We where caught in a hailstorm ( in our suburban) on our way to my son’s soccer match a few years ago, right in Leon springs those were golf ball sized and it sounded like gun shots. We were able to get to a gas station and park in the shadow of the awning I think that helped us. No broken glass but there were lots of folks pulling into the gas station with busted windshield and sun roofs.

Guh, 16K to fix it. Estimate specifically calls out replace, not repair, on the skins and top. Wish me luck.

Wow. Congratulations. Awesome vehicle. I was under mine today removing some rust and painting where I hit the forward bracket for the trialing arm. No real damage, just dented. Look forward to some pics and posts about your adventures. I bet the Code Orange looks great. You have a nice wife!!!!

Dropped the Wildtrak off to the body shop this morning. They called.....after a full estimation of damage it's right at $32K to fix it. OUCH! Insurance company is going to be crying a river of tears on this. Valued at 54K so they'll be fixing it I'm sure.
