Hi, Is hill start assist bad for the clutch in off road driving?

For example, I learned to get out of the clutch before an obstacle and keep the revs high enough not to stall and control the speed of the vehicle with the brakes. The idea being that brakes go out less dramatically than clutches in the middle of nowhereistan. I swear that is what the old throttle pull stick on old jeeps is for, as well as PTO accessories.

Hill-start will just hold the brakes for a short time, maybe a second or so, so you don’t roll backwards when starting on a hill. Can’t think of any negative impact…

I have it turned on with both my manual fords, I like it. Remember the anxiety of learning to drive MT and getting stopped on a hill! My kids are spoiled with this technology! ;)

I swear that I had the hand throttle on my 72 Bronco, used it as kind of “trail control” , but that was a long time ago!

Manual transmission you can through the vehicle settings. Hopefully this helps …

It was disconcerting the first time I felt it holding me, but like it now. Give it a try!

It’s disconnected. I can’t access the hill start assist button. Mines the 2dr badlands 2.3 stick.

That’s weird. I have 4D BL. Maybe they figured you didn’t need it!
