Maybe this is well known or maybe you don't care to use it, but Hill Descent control IS built into my 2 Door Wildtrak with the 2.7/automatic transmission. My manual doesn't even tell you how to find it, unless you have a manual transmission.

Watched a 2hr video of a couple's Off Rodeo experience and they explain the following steps (just verified, see picture)

From 4L:
1) push the 1 Pedal drive button
2) with foot on the brake, push the set speed up button on cruise control for trail control mode. You should see speed you're setting in green
3) keeping foot on the brake, pull the parking brake and you get a prompt you're in Hill Descent Control.

Some people dislike it, I know it's a loud and clunky thing. But thought I'd share.

like a lot of tech, you're not likely to use it if you're unfamiliar with it. The thing is to learn and practice how to use it so you're not intimidated when there's a real need for it.

To me it's like cheating........but I use it all the time! I think you can change it in 1/2 mph increments to 5 or 6 mph then one mph at a time.

yep I use it from time to time. Figured I’d use it now before it stops working in 10 or so years. Since I have the 2.3l we don’t get the one pedal driving I don’t know if it is different but when I set it I just push the middle button on the goat mode dial and set the speed with the cruise control buttons. It is .5 mph increments. But I have only used it to about 4 mph after that I take over. It’s the only time I use the cruise control buttons. But it does work nice.

Learned this at Off Roadeo. However, if on a long steep decline, you will smell brakes. Ask me how I know, lol. After that I used 4 low and if I stared to roll too fast, manually downshifted.
