I was perusing the owner's manual and discovered that the manual transmission Bronco's are equipped with "Start In Gear", which can be really handy in some situations! I've attached a screen shots of the pages in the owner's manual explaining how it works.

The first line should read:
Step one. Get a Bronco. lol

Fortunately, the owner’s manual is available for download. I read it when I find myself perusing the Jeep website, just to remind myself that I really don’t want a Jeep, I want to wait on a [my] Bronco.

I get it is a safety thing to not start in gear, but i drove a 1990 Mitsubishi pickup that had it and ran out of gas on a busy road and I was able to use the starter to hop the curb and get it off of the access road. I worked at a car dealership and the truck had just come off the transport and we had to gas it up the closest gas station was about 1.5 miles away, they did not put enough fuel in it from the factory. I think all standards should have it.

Absolutely, I had that in my 1991 Toyota 4x4 pickup. If you kill it on a steep incline, rocks, in a sketchy spot, you will be glad to have that.
