Heated Seats?

Just watched the new walkthrough video 2021 Ford Bronco 2-Door(less) Badlands Walk-Around | Bronco Nation. It shows if you select the marine grade vinyl (MGV) seats you can't get power seats. Not a deal breaker for me since I figure its just more stuff to break. I'm just hoping they at least have a manual lumbar support. But the lack of heated seats is an issue.

The video shows no heated steering wheel or seats. Is that because of the standard level package or because of the marine grade vinyl seating? The mid-level package and up indicates heated seating. Does anyone know if you go with the MGV seating and the mid-level or up do you get heated seats?

Yes that is the standard level pkg, so no heated seats if you go mid or higher you get heated even if you go with a Big Bend with cloth seats. You have to go lux to get the heated steering wheel.

I get that but the issue is in the video he states no electronics in the MGV seating because they don't want problems with water damage to motors or circuitry. He doesn't mention heated seats specifically so was kind of curious. Thanks!

There is a manual knob for lumbar support on this model. There was an IG video that stated the lumbar knob was NOT on the passenger seat, though.

From an engineering perspective, heating elements are much easier to waterproof than electric motors, and they're also protected in the foam under the vinyl, while the adjustment motors are typically under the seat in the "splash zone." Personally, I only care about powered seats if it's a shared vehicle. If I'm the only one driving it 99% of the time, I'd rather have a warm tush than an easy to move tush. I can't remember the last time I adjusted the seat on my DD, and it has power.

I ordered my Bronco Badlands. Got the heated seats and they are manual seats. Ford has offered a knob on other vehicles and model years for the lumbar; that have manual seats.

Awwww crap! I wasn’t aware that the MGV seats are manual - can’t believe I am buying a. $60k suv with manual seats. WTF!?!

Am I overthinking this or should I call the dealer and fork over another $2k for leather?

The leather option is only a 4dr option and it then removes the washout floor since the power seats aren’t compatible

I guess it depends on how much you move your seats. My daily driver I haven’t moved the seats in 12 years. In my truck with power seats the only time I move them is when I accidentally hit the switch when I’m reaching into the truck to grab something. Now having seat position memory is nice when you take your car for service and they move your seat I like to be able to get it where I had it. I seem to remember some manufacturer that had memory on manual seats. Mercedes, Jag, maybe BMW.

I have been spoiled with powered seats last 7 years. Not a deal breaker for me to be forced into manual seats with wash out floor boards. I would rather have washout option than power seats.

F150 has power seats and I forgot they were power until I accidentally bumped the switch. Love the heated seats though and will be adding them to my Bronco. I'll save 200.00 getting them aftermarket versus getting from Ford dealership.

I can't believe how many people want heated seats. I use my heated seats probably 3-4 weeks out of the year. I use my cooled (ventilated) seats probably 8 months out for the year and even on road trips in the winter. They probably didn't offer ventilated seats yet, because they require perforated seats. I wouldn't be surprised if future road versions have both, but no wash out floor.

I went with the lux package but kept the MGV seats because we have more mud and sand here. I want to be able to take the hose to it. I also wanted the 12" screen with built in nav, power on the dash, B&O stereo, and for convenience the garage door opener. I would have spent more on stereo upgrades than the package cost.

I do like the memory power seats because every time my wife drives my 150 she has to move everything in the truck. I when I unlock with my fob everything goes back to my settings.

I didn't realize until watching that video a few days ago that heated seats were not included with MGV. My question would be if going with the Black Diamond, where MGV is the only option, do you get a discount on the mid package since it won't include heated seats.

I got heated seats on the BL high package order with MGV. You don't get the electronic seats with MGV.

With the top off at 40 degrees, you'll enjoy the heated seats. I learned this riding in my wife's convertible, if its 40 or up, she's got the top down. And it's just the flip of a switch. I'm sure if the top is off the Bronco, I'm not gonna go through putting it back on for a chilly morning or 2. I'll be wishing it had the "air scarf" like the Benz!

Heated seats are included with Mid package regardless of trim or seat material

Not sure where you saw that MGV didn't have heated seats, but that is wrong

That was my mistake. I heard in the video that the MGV seats didn't come in power because of possible damage to the electronics. I assumed the same thing would apply to heated. Carry on. I'm stupid.

Not stupid. You're right, they don't have power movement. But they're able to waterproof the heating elements.

You do get heated seats, or that's what my dealer told me.
