Has anyone else came across a dealership that will not sell you your Bronco

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same situation that I am. I put in my reservation nearly 2 years ago when I was an employee at my delivering dealership in Kearney NE, and have waiting patiently for my Bronco to be built and delivered. Since the reservation, I decided to leave that dealership and start my own business. My Bronco just arrived at the dealership and the general manager is telling me that the owner is refusing to sell me my Bronco. I have called into Ford serval times and I can get no help, the only thing that they tell me is that they can have a supervisor contact me within 2-7 business days. Can the dealership even sell my Bronco when it is my reservation? And what punishment does the dealership get for putting a life long Ford customer through all of this if they do sell it to someone else? Just looking for info, guidance, and maybe a little help. Thanks for reading.

This has unfortunately happened more than logic would suggest. The short answer is that, because of the ridiculous relationship that Ford and the dealerships have, the dealership technically owns the vehicle and can charge whatever they want for it. Ford's hands are largely tied. They have threatened to reduce allocations for dealerships who are doing this. But I've yet to see any hard evidence that they are doing so. It seems like the most effective thing you can do is tell them you know that Ford can reduce their allocations and that you will be filing a formal complaint. In addition, you will be leaving them a negative Google review, and putting them on the "unscrupulous dealer" lists on BN and B6G. If it were me, I would also be telling them that I'm using some of the $60K I'm saving to put up billboards on either side of them, letting the public know how dishonest they are, and also reaching out to all of the local news consumer groups like WRTV's Call 6 for Help to expose them as well. I will be the biggest f***ing fly in their ointment.

Well my wife decided to call the owner to discuss this bronco situation of him refusing to sell me the bronco (she is the one that picked out the color and every option, technically her bronco) and she called me after she got off and was in tears.

I don’t know about you but if that happened to my wife with that Dealership I would probably be in jail. I repeat myself … email address, company name , company phone number lay it out there . now I’m mad that’s not even my wife.

What reason did they give not to sell it to you? My BIL had issues with them a couple of years ago, so he went to Woodhouse.

if it's any help, there are Bronco's available in Hastings, Anderson Ford in Lincoln and GI. Not sure what the build is, but Anderson has 3 in stock--2 on order and Hastings has 1 in stock.

First, thank you all for your concern and support for our situation. Since I am the one that spoke with the owner, I thought it would be best to tell you all the reasons given for us not getting to purchase our Bronco. The conversation started with the owner stating that he spoke to his lawyer and someone at Ford and that since there is no contract he is under no obligation to sell us the Bronco. We already knew this as our lawyer told us the same thing. His second reason was that my husband was apparently a terrible service manager. (This is obviously me paraphrasing and not his exact words. He made sure I was clear that he didn't say he was a bad service manager that was just how I interpreted what he said even though that IS what he was implying) There were several examples that he gave that I don't actually believe are completely accurate or accurate at all. I know my husband is great at his job and still does what he can to assist the service department and customers at PVA with any questions or concerns. We could go back and forth about what my husband did or didn't do and what the owner did or didn't do over a 5 year period, but my husband definitely didn't do anything out of malice or ill intent during his final months there. His third reason for not allowing us to buy the Bronco was that the order was done fraudulently. I put in the order myself and paid the deposit so I assure you it was not done fraudulently. When I pushed him on this topic he said that it was fraudulent that it was put in as a priority. When I asked who put us in as a priority he stated that the GM did. I pointed out that the GM put himself in as VIP priority and has had his Bronco for several months now. To this point, the owner said he would not comment and that he made his decision that he was not going to sell the Bronco to us. He did tell me that he has 3 allocations and that I could order another Bronco from him but I would have to wait months for it to arrive and he made sure I knew that it would be a 2023 model year. (insert giant eye roll and exasperated sigh). In my opinion, this is retaliation. I want to make sure to say that we in no way want to bash the dealership as there are some great people that work there! My new mission is to find out why Ford does nothing to protect their customers from dealerships that want to screw them over...oh and my second mission is to find a new Bronco! The owner may get to make the decision that I don't get the Bronco that I designed, ordered, put a deposit down on, and waited FOREVER for, but he can't stop me from having a different one!

Dealerships buy cars from Ford. Customers buy from Dealerships. Ford cares more for the Dealerships than you or I. And they care more about the larger dealerships than the small ones. It’s business not personal I get it. You got to remember that dealership did all the hard work of getting lucky you chose them to order your Bronco. It is just sad we have no recourse in these situations.

We are just so sick of hearing that they will escalate our claim and someone will call us back...which I don't think will ever actually happen. The whole situation is super frustrating and disappointing! I just want my Bronco!!

I hope y’all get your Bronco soon. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do with the original dealer, so you need to cut your losses and move on. Now if you put money down on this vehicle I do not think it is wrong to get that back and to ask for interest on that money, they are going to make 5-20k off that Bronco.

To the OP and his family, Its so disturbing hearing the details of your troubles with the dealership. You would think that at this point in time these kind of Jr High dramatics would be worked out of professional conduct but it just keeps getting worse. I found the point that the dealership is doing this then saying, you can order another one if you want, extremely unprofessional and shaddy as heck. This dealership needs to lose thier license if that is how they do business. Imagine all the unsuspecting people they have taken advantage of. Just another reminder of buyer beware. You might have to buy/order one from another dealership and move on. It will be difficult to do with this situation always bieng part of the story. I wish you well and hope to meet you out on the trail.

Yes, I believe that he is not only refusing to sell us our Bronco out of spite but also so that he can sell it to someone else for over MSRP. He confirmed that suspicion when he said I couldn't buy my Bronco, but I could order a different one from him. Thank you for your kind words. All of the support and feedback from this forum has helped ease the hurt and frustration of the situation. Hope to see you all on the trail soon!!
