I recently aquired a used '22 hardtop, minus the glass and rear hatch. It looks in great condition. Side glass looks like looks as if it was removed using a slender wire to cut the glass from the adhesive and did not hack up the roof. Roof appears to have thesound deadening, quick connects for wiper, washer and defroster. All seals appear to be intact. I cant find a single crack or spiderweb. Only one minor scuff is all i can find.

Looking into various sources, i could replace the liftgate and side glass for $500 and could piece the whole roof together for less than $2000, far less than what i am seeing hardtops with a state's drive.

What reason, other than cracking would necessitate replacing the shell?

is this the MIC hardtop?

Does anything look like it is missing, other than the obvious?

For the initial purchase price, it is well worth experimenting with.

It does appear to be a factory MIC top, based on the limited photos. I wonder if it was salvaged from a totaled Bronco?

The "provenance" is fuzzy. I bought it off Facebook Marketplace after watching it for months. The seller indicated that they got it from a clean up job that they did at a dealer's lot. It has signs of sitting out for at least a year. Cocoons, dried leaves and dirt embedded in the seals. Probably was sitting in the back lot and the lowest tech would "get to it". I think if i follow though, I will wrap it with 3M vinyl. I just am not sure which color choice...carbon fiber, heritage white, semigloss black...choices.
