Ok, I understand that there is a MIC top and painted top. I keep reading where people are referring to the painted top as a modular. Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t both tops modular?

Yes. The name of the painted top is “Black Modular Hardrop” the other is the “Molded In Color (MIC) Top”

the modular top has extra removable panels on the rear side windows, they both have the removable top panels.

Can it be powder coated?

the MIC top has a grain to it, so people are not sure yet if you can paint it, plastic dip it, or powder coat it, probably not able to wrap it. I think the final color looks pretty good seen on the red Bronco outside MAP this week.

Technically speaking, yes with a butt load of prep work to make it a smooth paintable surface.

Love the close up of the blue one. Ahhhh cracking paint drip on the quarter panel. Ain’t preproduction awesome!

Ok thanks. That clears that up. Too bad the MIC top doesn’t have the extra removable panels. Just have to purchase a painted one at a later date

I have never seen a Jeep MIC hard top or fender flares painted over.
I had my whole Jeep Liberty covered with bed liner. It was great!

It is sprayed on like paint but not the same. Maybe someone else can come in on this subject.

I would also add that the 2 Door MOD Top has a removable "hatch" as part of the rear cap above the back seats to give passengers in the back an open-air feel since there is no second row panel as on the 4DR.
