Had to say goodbye to Trooper

I had to part ways with my azure gray everglades. I couldn't afford the monthly payments and gas to get to and from work. 150 miles a day. $600 a month just in gas. Ended up buying a Outer Banks sport in desert sand. I'll post pictures soon.

Sorry to hear the Everglades had to go. Hopefully the Sport treats you well!

I am retired and am pretty set financially but this economy is absolute trash at the moment and I honestly don't know how people are surviving these days and making ends meet..

Premium is over $5.30 a gallon here, interest rates are ridiculous and you almost have to 2nd mortgage your home just to afford groceries..

Enjoy that Sport and yes, photos please!

I hate to hear this but completely understand. There is nothing cheap about owning a Bronco right now.
I'm sure the OBS will be much more economical. Hmmm, never knew they were doing the BS in Desert Sand.
I would love to see pictures of it.

Kudos to you for making a tough choice. No doubt, you had reservations. I trust the new vehicle will serve you well in many ways. Cheers and happy motoring, @Mandogus! šŸ˜Ž

Sorry to hear you had to give up the Everglades… You would think in the healthiest economy in the world one wouldn’t have to take out a mortgage to buy a car or put food on the table… But we tend to have short memories when it comes to the economy… the first car I ever bought I paid 13% interest on… Incomes are up, but corporate greed is keeping everything super expensive (gas, for instance)…

I would buy a Sport in a heartbeat… so much to like about them, and hopefully in 2025 they will offer in a hybrid, and my wife will be first in line…

funny story. It failed inspection because my plates were too faded. the sales guy told the inspector to pass it and he will buy him beer. so I just ordered new plates online should come in 12 weeks.

I'm sorry you had to trade in Trooper, but I love that you still have a piece of the Everglades trim with you, in terms of the color you chose. Congrats on the Bronco Sport, and on making a wise choice for your life right now.

That's a sharp-looking ride, @Mandogus! šŸ˜ And a horse of a different color no less! Very cool. Solid choice. Full-size or not, your filly is every bit a Bronco in the truest sense of the word. It's born WILD in body, mind, and spirit!

Bummer, bummer, bummer. Sounds like you made the right choice for you "today". The Sport is an amazing and capable vehicle that no doubt will keep you outdoors. Enjoy your new ride and the comfort of having a little extra cash for those adventures. Good luck!

The Desert Sand looks amazing. I get the budget constraints and the need to downsize. I drove a car I hated for 3 years because it got 32 mpg hwy, and 28 in town. Didn't hurt my feelings at all when a Rav 4 hit it and totaled it out. The Sport really is a good choice.

Sharp-looking OBS, @Mandogus. I also think that we make decisions based on a hierarchy of values, particularly on the difficult ones. So while it was hard to let your Everglades go, I have a feeling that deep down, you still feel it was the right thing to do.

I miss having it. My sport was giving me key fob issues, fixed that with new batteries. After having sync 4, sync 3 sucks. I can't switch between android auto and ford nav/siriusxm. At least can't figure it out. 🤷 well just need to deal with it.

Hard to use Sync 3 after having sync 4… I feel that pain…

Sad to see we no longer have the Everglades in common, but now we have the color in common. It is still a pretty rare color I have only seen one other sport and one ranger in the Desert Sand.
Looks amazing but I am biased.
